Re: Canik TP9V2

I bought my V2 because Janik is a bad influence (see prior thread in archives). :) Probably about 1,500 rounds through it now. I am still not 100% as accurate as I'd like on the first, DA shot but have improved massively with range work. Once it's in SA, the trigger is glass smooth and I'm on target...

Walther PPQ "Try it Before You Buy It" Progra

Hello all. Just saw this during my evening reading. Only applies to PPQs, but if you're thinking about one (and I know a few of you are): https://www.shootingillustrated.com/art ... purchases/

Re: What handgun do you EDC the most?

My Walther PPS M2 in a BladeTech holster, AIWB, 115 gr Hornady Critical Defense. I had the recall and then it started peening on the barrel but I had the gunsmith at my range look at it and he said it wouldn't be an issue if it didn't get any larger, and it hasn't yet after 250 more rounds, so... It...

Re: Canik Elite Combat – Setting a High Bar

I would purchase at least two single-stack (say, 7, 8, and 9-round magazines) of a miniaturized, thinner SF Elite. Me I'd be in for a G26ish Elite, or something along the lines of a sig 365 or g43 Elite. Okay, I'd probably go for that size if they made it instead of a single stack. Just another Can...

Re: Walther PPS M2 recall........

Dropped mine off at FedEx earlier this evening. Thanks for the update, Higgy. I love mine but that new Springfield Armory XDS Mod.2 was making googly eyes at me when I dropped by Academy (right up the street) to see if they still had the 500-round Blazer Brass 9mm packs on sale... ugh!

Re: Walther PPS M2 recall........

1. Mine is in the recall. 2. I'm with Squid - is it necessary? 3. I received no communication from Walther regarding this in spite of the fact that mine is registered with them and has been sent back once already (6-round mag locking slide open with one round still in mag - known issue they couldn't...

Re: Canik Elite Combat and TP9SFx

While I did not handle it (or would probably have purchased it), I just got home from the local Academy and they had one behind the glass for $749. Perhaps after Christmas if my finances hold up. One thing I did note - sitting there behind the glass, with really only the threaded barrel to make it a...

Re: Taurus G2S?

I've had my PT111 Millennium G2 for a year. Just ran another 100 rounds through it last Saturday. I keep hoping it will break so I can justify getting another single stack 9 to go with my Walther PPS M2 but... it won't break. It will jam on aluminum (never shot steel) when hot, but aside from that a...

Re: Being approached by strangers about Canik

Went to the pricey range across town with some friends and they had five Canik models on display and the TruGlo night sights for $75. Canik lists them at $99 so I'm guessing they give you a "deal" for a $25-35 installation on them, but they looked great in person. I am not convinced I need night sig...

Re: The Elite Combat is almost here!

Elite will become the car/winter carry and the Combat will be for home defense. My poor V2 is going to be soo jealous sitting in the safe except for range trips.

Great post on law of self defense from a true expert

While I understand opinions on the use of deadly force, I've just finished reading this excellent blog post (and comments from where I found it, a site run by a law professor) by an actual expert in self-defense law: https://legalinsurrection.com/2018/07/law-of-self-defense-video-just-because-its-la...

Re: Great Deal on a Portable Security Box

I paid $19.99 each for my two SnapSafe boxes. One stays in my car secured to the passenger seat frame and the other one is attached to the bed frame in the bedroom. It's not a "safe" per se, but good enough as a deterrent if someone gets in and wants to get out in a hurry.

Re: Keeping them stock

I have kept all of mine stock and probably will do so, with perhaps the exception of adding night sights to either the V2 or PPS M2. I fear if I ever had to use one of them, even in this state (castle doctrine applies) the legal externalities of a "modified" weapon could or would be horrendous. Plus...
