Re: MAC (Military Arms Channel) Removed from Instagram

I don't see the silencing of gun channels being the catalyst for it, but there will come a day when they silence someone government does care about. Right now, social media enjoys protection as both publishers and providers. Essentially, "we're not responsible for what anyone posts, but we'll shut y...

Best thing is to go to youtube and watch some Paul Harrell videos... He probably has the best real world tests of self defense ammo out there...
And the ammo quest series of videos by shooting the bull.

I love the new and improved high tech fleece bullet stop.

In a sub compact
Do you reccomed +p
In some testing, HST 124gr actually performs better than 124gr +p in a ~3"barrel. The short barrel doesn't really give extra powder time to burn usefully.

...also, anybody worried about the usual bugs with any new model launch?
I thought I was the only one, though I'm not terribly concerned. It doesn't seem to be a complete redesign and we know the original works (ignoring the checkered history of compact 1911s).

Re: Prefered self defense carry rounds?

Right now I've got a motley assortment of Hornady XTP, Hornady Critical Duty, and Federal HST. As I cycle out the older ammo, I'm replacing it with HST 124gr.

I like the concept of the Inceptor ARX ammo. The tests look impressive, but there's no supporting data for it yet.

Unfortunately unlike the lefts rallies, we got jobs to be at.
Alas, too true. Hoping there's folks closer with M-F jobs that can help the turnout.

Re: Springfield Armory Hellcat

Red dot needs to be on. Red dot needs to be found. Point and shoot for rapid self defense. So, can you not point and shoot with a red dot? I guess I'm just not understanding the arguments against a red dot. The most obvious one, I will concede is that it must be on. However, with the quality RDS's ...

Lovebugs aren’t too bad here where I live just west or Orlando.
Haven't been bad on I-4 between Seminole and Osceola, but I almost cancelled my cookout on Sunday because they were so thick. Hazards of living next to a watershed marsh.

If Florida had the RF law after I got divorced, I would have been in court every other week, assuming I survived the warrant service. Her psychotic social media campaign nearly cost me my security clearance as it was.

Good times....

Re: Scary, but true (Red Flag Laws)

I can't find the article I saw about 4 years ago, but the gist was that you'd be more likely to get served at work or pulling out of your driveway since most people aren't generally going to be carrying their whole "arsenal" with them. It was more in relation to Connecticut's proposed assault rifle ...

Re: Colt suspending production of AR-15 for civilians

I'm willing to let them float the production capacity story. We'll see how it plays out. Will they start discounting the surplus they haven't been able to sell? At the end of the day, the optics suck and they are likely playing both ends against the middle. I'm not in the market for a Colt anything,...

I really like the Holosun 503. I don't have one yet, but I've used it and really like the ring/dot reticle. I've got a SightMark 30mm red dot on my carbine. It uses button batteries and the pins keep walking out on the flip covers, but it's also survived 2 classes and held zero through some enthusia...

Re: House Judiciary Passed a ‘High Capacity’ Mag Ban

The office of my representative is at least taking my calls. I know it's a lost cause, she hasn't broken from Pelosi since she got elected. I hold out faint hope for Scott and Rubio. Scott caved after Parkland and hasn't shown any signs of remorse or wisdom. Rubio is trying to be "enlightened" or ce...
