Re: Newark NJ - Water Problem

So all the folk that are too poor/clueless/unmotivated to get ONE form of ID must now have two or their government will make them go without clean water?

Re: Another run on guns and ammo?

I think that part of that is kids are being taught that identifying with a religion is bad. just like they are being taught how great socialism is. Most of what I've seen from school is lies of omission and perspective. I have more of an issue with my daughter's Girl Scout program. The Boy Scouts h...

When a government decides to control its people, they do two things. Take away guns and religion.
And a recent survey shows over half the population identifying as non-religious.

The FBI has been called in, given the circumstances. Which FBI is going to be "investigating", though?

How disgusting is it that that is a reasonable question?

That would make a nice BBQ gun. A good quality Yaqui holster to show off the engraving.

Re: Recommend maintenance

The 2 in carry rotation get cleaned after each range session and periodically for good measure. The long guns on standby for HD get the same treatment. Everything else in the safe gets a detail clean after getting a trip to the range. I don't know how long they'll be sitting before being used again,...

Re: Carrying with an empty chamber

....But, you come down the hall where my wife and child are, that's a whole new ball game. Possessions can always be replaced, and I'm not ending someones life over an object that I'll probably be getting rid of in a few years anyway. I only care about the safety and welfare of my family. Even with...

Re: What are you doing on the 4th

Regular duty shift followed up by some grilling and swimming (weather permitting). Oh, and watering the front yard to keep the neighbors from accidentally setting fire to part of it....again... Might walk towards the park to see the fireworks from the lake, but the boy still isn't big on the noise. ...

Re: Lever action or semi auto carbine?

The lever action is above the semi auto PCC on my list. It's far enough down the list that I haven't had to decide what caliber, though. The strongest contender is the .357/.38spl since we've got a good supply of ammo for my wife's revolver. Also, I'm kinda with SSGNDoc about it not being a scary bl...

Re: Holster Question: Self-Defense vs. Competition

For what it's worth, appendix carry is generally between 10 and 2... Maybe 10:30 and 1:30. I carry at about 11.

Re: Carrying with an empty chamber

The wedge helps. So does taking a half step back with the strong side leg before holstering. There's less of a chance of muzzling yourself that way than with 8 or 9 o'clock carry.

Re: Holster Question: Self-Defense vs. Competition

Now, see... I find the appendix draw to be much more efficient. On the draw, the muzzle naturally moves forward as soon as I'm clear of the holster. My support hand is already flat against my body because I pulled up my cover garment. As the pistol comes up to near a pectoral index, my elbow is low ...

All TP9s can use the 18rnd mags, though they will not sit flush in the Elite series pistols.

Re: newb looking for range ammo advice

Being that I am Canada, I wont be able to order from the USA without more hassle than it is worth. I just figured i should maybe get 50 rounds of one, 50 rou ds of another etc to see what the differrnce feel like. Also mentioned above, what is the replacement spring from Century? Since the Canik wa...

I'm seriously considering the new AG belly band system. I'd like to see more information on it before jumping into it, but it looks like my SMC holster can clip to it.
