Re: Can anybody explain to me why......

Those same overhead costs apply to the shipping process. Labor- Someone has to track the process from receipt of order to shipping, someone has to process payment, identify the part number, retrieve the part, pack it and prepare a label. Maybe they have daily UPS pick up but maybe someone has to arr...

Re: customer service ?

Good point, Ruger sells modestly priced guns and has excellent customer service. But, Ruger sells A LOT more guns than Century and I'm sure their service department is pretty big compared to Century's. Nonetheless, Century should take note of Ruger's commercial success based on customer service and ...

Re: customer service ?

From experience Century Arms will take "okay" care of you when they feel like it's time to respond to your question/concern. Honestly, it all depend on how they're feeling at the moment. Don't be surprised if you do not hear back from them within 2-3 weeks. And when they do decide to respond you re...

Re: Federal Ammo vs Fiocchi

I used to shoot Freedom and had pretty good luck with it even though it was the whipping boy for alot of people. Since Freedom's bankruptcy I have switched over to Fiocchi and Sellier & Bellot with occasional Blazer Brass (a division of Federal). The Fiochi and S&B are flawless but I find the Blazer...

Re: Canik firing pin breakage?

I see the Accessory site also has the extended slide stop for the Elite. I recall someone on here asking where they could get a replacement because Century wouldn't sell them (at that time).

Re: Canik firing pin breakage?

There were a number of people complaining last year that they were breaking firing pins on the SFX. I thought that Century had issued a caution against dry firing without a snap cap but others claimed it broke even with a snap cap. I believe Century was even offering replacement firing pins free of ...

Re: Canik vs Tristar

Is the initial post's question whether the Tristar gun line has equal quality to Canik gun line? I have 3 Tristars and 2 Caniks. I enjoy all of them but I consider the Caniks to be about 90% of the quality of the Tristars. The Tristars literally never malfunction. They are reliable and durable (I ha...

Re: Cool 55 Stingray-C in (mm

High priced isn't accurate. $459 for a used Canik is flat out crazy. The 2013 review cites a MSRP of $400 with expected dealer prices at $350ish.
Somebody at J & G thinks the Stingray C is a real collector's item.

Re: Cool 55 Stingray-C in (mm

I found a 2013 review of the Stingray compact. Its 2.5lbs fully loaded but 2.25 unloaded. Buyer beware, there is no support for these pistols. Canik importer for the "fish" series changed from Century to Tristar. Neither offer parts or service now since Tristar renamed the models and they are slight...

Re: A retrospective look at Canik safety warning

Agreed. If a Canik had fired from being dropped I'm sure the story would have been BIG news in the gun world.
I didn't bother with the upgrade either.

A retrospective look at Canik safety warning

Well, its been a year since the internet went crazy over the "Canik Safety warning and Severe Duty Upgrade". I was looking at three YouTube videos about this and was surprised that Canik's notice was being represented as a design flaw. I was not surprised by the comments on the videos' channels call...

Re: High round count Caniks?

It will be interesting to see what parts and integrated pieces will fail prematurely, say before 50,000 rounds. I doubt most of us will ever find out, with the exception of wear items like firing pins and springs. Minor parts cost a few dollars and can be replaced. I'm more concerned about integrate...

Re: Favorite 22LR and why.

I would recommend buying a variety to run through your specific gun to see what it runs best before buying 5000 rounds that your gun may not like. .22lr guns vary in ammo feed/fire reliability and can vary depending on how long since last cleaning. People universally recommend CCI Standard Velocity ...

Re: Buy it cheap, stack it deep

We already have some crazy state and local laws restricting amounts that can be bought in a month or requiring background checks for ammo purchases. If we get an actual blue wave nationally there will be significant costs added to shooting sports. We are living in the good old days right now.

Re: Buy it cheap, stack it deep

I bought a Prime Membership at Target Sports so I'm buying exclusively from them until my membership expires next September. Good prices, free shipping. I'm stocking up because I assume my home state will exercise the mandate for internet vendors to collect sales tax sometime in the near future. Tha...

Re: Screwy Tristars

Now that you have seen it's location you can see how it would interfere with the trigger bar once it is loose. Absolutely.... I put a screwdriver on it....it was tight. But- I will remember this. Edit: I wonder?.......do the CZ's have this??? Haven't finished my first cup of coffee yet so to early ...

Thanks for the tip... I had a hard time locating the screw! Kept looking on the side of the frame.
I never saw that screw before.

Screwy Tristars

Just a heads up about a minor, recurring problem with Tristars that has an easy fix. This week my new Tristar T-120 developed a trigger problem after only 400 rounds fired. Trigger was dead, wouldn't release hammer but would return forward. I was disappointed because my original T-120 has been a wor...

Way to go Wilson Combat, sign me up (NOT). =))
If it says Wilson, it costs bunches.
Add another bunch for the "Vickers" name association.
