Re: Sight Picture

I get a slight 6 o'clock picture with 147gr bullets, but combat sight picture with 115/124s.

Re: New Cartridge, the 350 Legend

I doubt it will sell. Calibers above 300 but less than 450 don't find that big of a market.

It's 2019 and people are still creating guns with perfectly rectangular grips?

OK, how do you start in completion?
I have written a guide to getting started for the local IDPA club. Some of the specifics won't apply, but the general rules will be the same where ever you go.

Re: Who All is a Competiton Shooter?

I've been shooting USPSA since 2010, and IDPA since 2012. I'm the current president of the El Paso IDPA and Multigun, and have been in club leadership since 2014. I hold the rank of Master in USPSA (for PCC) and Expert in IDPA (SSP/ESP). I also shoot Multigun extensively. I'm getting to the point wh...

Re: FN509 Tactical Review

That's a steep price in a down market.

When it comes to FN pistols, it isn't like they are all that popular to begin with anyways. It's rare to see them at the range, and they have almost no law enforcement market share. Tacking on a high price on top of that isn't going to help sell the gun.

Joining this thread late, but... Always remember that there is a difference between the asking price and the selling price. After a few days, all the asking price represents is the price that it isn't selling at. Yeah, everyone thinks they should get a deal except me. I have kept several that I had...

Re: Southern Border - What a Mess

Thanks for the kind words, Let me say that the legal immigration system is a mess. It is slow, documents constantly get lost, any mistake on a form can add months on to the wait time, and even under ideal circumstances it can take 10-12 months for a visa to be approved. I mailed off at least 4-5 mar...

Re: Southern Border - What a Mess

So I live in El Paso, birth place of Beto O'Rourke. El Paso has a fence, and it works fairly well. Beto forgot to mention that on the campaign trail. I work and live a few miles from the border. I'm local PD and see CBP all the time, though I rarely work directly with them. We aren't a sanctuary cit...

Re: bore diameter?

Probably 90% of the ammo I shoot is cast, of my own make. For 9mm, there is always the simple solution of shooting .358 bullets exclusively. I've been doing that for years because off and on I will own a gun that will key hole .356, and I make my ammo in large batches. When it comes to lead, it is a...

Re: bore diameter?

The standard bore size for all 9mm guns in .355". But that isn't to say that is the bore size in your specific gun. The easiest was to find out is to drive a slightly oversized pure lead slug down the bore and measure the end result. This can be a fishing weight or a bullet cast from pure lead and ...

Re: bore diameter?

How do I measure a slug with 5 lands? Sounds like a dumb question, but.... Most barrels have 6 lands and grooves, no? I did a bit of research and found this thread on another forum. As a side note, Cast Boolits has been a great source of information several times in the past. http://castboolits.gun...

Thanks for the compliments guys. I've only shot with the club out in Hobbs twice, but both times were a good experience. They have some nice steel which takes several months to save up for, but lasts a generation. They also benefit from the SASS club in the area, as can be seen by the old western th...

Re: For the Sci-fi fans...........

Star Wars writers suck, to much PC shit. I want a dark gritty R rated star wars written by the bioware guys that made the old Knights of the Old Republic game on xbox. Even the Thrawn Trilogy made into a movie series would of been much better then the TFA, Last Jedi. It's not just the PC stuff. How...

Used forums of ARFCOM. Most pieces of "used" gear are anything but... I'm a huge fan of PSA, but AR parts last a long long time, so I don't generally browse there much anymore. The place that hasn't been mentioned yet is Wideners. They are a rolling inventory type place and occasionally have some in...

I had some teachers like that in High school, who were openly liberal but made it a point to say the most important thing is that you are following your own beliefs and not someone else's. Fast forward to going back to school as an adult to get my associates and both of my Government (Political Scie...
