Re: Post your "MATCH" videos/pictures here.

Had my second double feed in my last two matches! Had to be on a classifier too. I'm going to change to 1.1 OAL from 1.14 for the 145 RN. Never had any feeding issues with the 147 flats at 1.125. It happened with two different mags too. On your malfunction on the classifier, I didn't see any...

Re: Post your "MATCH" videos/pictures here.

Good shooting. Something that's on option on that classifier is to engage one of the far targets from the back, that way the reload can be performed while on the move.

Re: Post your "MATCH" videos/pictures here.

https://youtu.be/isSufRCHWnU Back out with my PCC again. 1st of 3rd in PCC division, 1st of 29 overall. I've finally got my gun shooting closer to power factor, which has been a big help. Before I got my chronograph, I had no clue where I was at shooting 9mm ammo out of a 16" barrel. It turns out, ...

Re: USPSA Match Today

A miss in IDPA is 5 seconds on to your time. IDPA is scored time plus penalties. A miss in USPSA is a 5 point penalty, in addition to the points you didn't get for not hitting the target. A miss in that regard is generally considered a 10 point swing. USPSA is scored points divided by the time for y...

Extended safety for Tristar P-120

I've recently bought a Tristar P-120 and was wondering who makes an extended safety for it? Is there a specific CZ model that would work?

Thank you.

Re: Reloading with best Dies

The major difference in dies is features. Fancier dies will have better lock rings or control over OAL. For handgun ammo, I doubt you'll ever see a difference in accuracy between the cheapest and the most expensive. For rifle ammo, there is an advantage in using a fancy seating die for those who wan...

Re: Barrel question?

I've been sizing all my 9mm bullets to .358 for years, and have yet to find a factory barrel that wouldn't chamber them. How are they not chambering?

But to answer your question, it should be a Duracoat/Cerecoat type finish. The wear on my barrel's finish is far too extensive to be melonited.

Re: Post your "MATCH" videos/pictures here.

No doubt, but now I'm into an entry fee for NAZC here mid May and have to figure out if it's worth pushing my recovery to be prepared for it.
I've heard that's a good match, though I've never been. A few of the dedicated shooters from here in El Paso/Las Cruces/Alamo make the trip for it.

Better to pack up and try it again than to miss twice as many competitions trying to push through it.

Re: Post your "MATCH" videos/pictures here.

I'll get some videos up later today, but I just got back from The Empire Strikes Back 2019 3-gun. It was a 2-day, 9 stage event and is sponsored by the SUPS shooting range is St George UT and 3-gun UK. In fact, everyone one is my squad of 14 were Brits except for 2 of us. This is a week+ vacation fo...

Re: About my load

I stopped shooting Alliant pistol powders years ago for that reason, along with I'm not a fan of anything but the smallest flake powders for small charge weights. For replicating a Bullseye load, I would recommend you look at are Accurate #2 and Shooters World Clean Shot (used to be Accurate #2 year...

Re: Low PF 9mm for us non-reloader competition shooters

Most domestic 9mm loads will make about 135 PF in the 115 and 124 loadings. 147 loadings tend to be a bit stronger. You can google "9mm minor" for some examples of ammo specifically meant to make PF and no more. Here is an example. https://atlantaarms.com/products/9mm-147gr-select-fmj.html The price...

Re: Shoot it right out of the box?

Inspect, yes, absolutely. For both safety and possible warranty needs.

Cleaning it though? For a modern firearm, no, I don't think it is necessary. For anything surplus, yeah, I would say clean it first.

https://youtu.be/U730LZtWpGg Here is me shooting the USPSA Classifier CM 18-04 "Didn't You Send the Mailman" with my PCC. With my hit factor, I got 87% on it, which is a low master score. Just to show you how razor tight scoring can be near the top, if I had shot one less Charlie and one more Alpha...
