Re: Disappointed

I appreciate your comments FreedomFries. I haven't done anything with this Elite yet. I believe Frank W also suggested shooting it from a rest as well. I'll do it and post the results.

Re: AR for $279.....?

Wife had everything under tree so I just opened it all up and assembled yesterday. Just messing around the house I'm very impressed with how bright and tiny the red dot is. Makes me feel like I'm using a surgical tool. If I still hunted I think it would be great for eastern woods. I have one AR with...

Recoil springs

One day browsing the internet I came across Galloway Precision. I decided to try their 20pd recoil spring guide rod assembly in my SA Mod2 4.0 9mm. You notice immediately the slide is harder to rack. Using cheap ball ammo I found less recoil and quicker follow up shots. The brass still kicks out a g...

Re: Disappointed

Have you tried switching barrels between the two guns to compare accuracy. I don’t know how you can judge accuracy shooting offhand. I suggest you shoot from a rest to see the true accuracy of your guns. Frank I thought about switching parts around. I haven't though. I did shoot off a table at 29 y...

They claim to have adjusted the sights and fired 15 rounds through it and it fired to the point of impact at 8 yards. These two targets were shot at 19 yards offhand. My origin...

Re: Disaster Preparedness

Unfortunately I believe your correct Janik. And they are stupid people. I was arguing with one yesterday that told me how racist Republicans are. I enlightened him on the civil war and who fought to keep their slaves. Argument over, but guaranteed it didn't change his mind. Speaking of zombies are t...

Re: AR for $279.....?

I bought a PSA freedom OD green upper and lower for $349 on Monday. Basically a complete rifle minus rear sight and magazine. I also got a Vortex Sparc to top it off. It was on sale for $129. PSA freedoms have good reviews and the Sparc too. Can't wait to build ( lol ) my new rifle and head out to t...

Re: AR 47

I've never seen the point of AK47's (or AR47's) from a cost perspective. If you want a cheap AR15 to shoot cheap steel cased 5.56, they are easy to find. A case of steel 7.62x39 is about the same as a case of steel 5.56, so I don't see the cost savings. There are always exceptions, but AR15's almos...

Re: Southern Border - What a Mess

I so agree with the previous quotes. I saw one of the liberal news stories about us gassing children on the border while Melania decorates her Christmas tree. That just angers me and I try not to get riled up about it all. I didn't see any kids in the pictures and if there was they learned a lesson....

Re: Broken to Fixed - Upgraded Firing Pins from Canik!

What was happening, even with the assumed bad batch of strikers, is that the part of the striker which flares out just behind the striker pin/tip impacts the rear of the breech. This causes a shock, which is larger when there is no round or snap cap in the chamber since the tip would want to keep m...

Re: Firearms want list...

I would like some nice stainless wheel guns. They are really expensive though. A 41 mag would be my 1st choice. I owned a S&W 686, 6" barrel 357 mag. What a beauty. It was a real shooter. I foolishly traded it on the all new Sig 229 in 357 sig. Somebody should have slapped some sense in me. I did l...

Re: AR15 Optics

My time in the Army was before optics were being used. And I'm not sure how many Combat Engineers use optics these days either, or if it's standard for everyone. Anyway, my experience with optics on AR's is pretty limited. I have the Primary Arms red dot for home defense. It's a decent optic, and so...

Re: 9mm Carbine

I own both the Ruger PC and the Hi-Point 9mm carbine's... Both are just as fun to shoot as you've heard... I've not had a single issue with either one of them so far and that is after about 300 - 400 rounds through each. Both feel great to shoot, both are very accurate (I've only shot out to 25 yar...

Re: AR15 Optics

I didn't have the cash for a Trijicon, so I bought the Burris AR-332. I have been pleasantly surprised. It is a 3X and does just fine for shorter ranges. It also has a reticle with hold over dots for up to 600 yards, according to Burris. I don't know if I buy that since it is real hard to see a 600...

Re: Canik Re-Stock!

The Elite-S is down to $380. If I wait until black Friday, they may be paying me to take them! I paid $329 for mine across the shelf at my local pawn shop......I think? they had it priced wrong. Cause they had a SA right beside it with a price tag of $399. This was a year ago. I never see any good ...

Re: Buy it cheap, stack it deep

9mm and .223 I keep a good stock on hand. .380 and 10mm I see as limited use and probably only have 500 rds max each. Maybe have 1000 .22 and probably should get more shotgun shells. Doubt if I have 100 but I never shoot it. I do not have food or water reserves yet. You know how fast the stores will...

I just checked the Remington UMC 115 FMJ, with the Prime membership that ammo is $158.70
Pretty sure I could justify the cost of the membership. We shoot quite a bit.
