Re: Looking for a Conceal carry gun. Help!

I've become quite partial to my G43X. It's thinner than what I've carried in the past. I love that it's got a full length grip. For those who want more capacity, Shield Arms is making a flush fitting 15 round magazines for them.

Re: What is your preferred way to conceal and carry?

The most comfortable and easy 9mm to carry by far I've found is my G43X in a RedX IWB holster. I don't know the degrees but it has a good amount of forward tilt. Winter time I like bigger 4" plus pistols in OWB holsters. Also Duluth clothing makes some good items to carry in. Here is their firehouse...

Re: 9mm ammo quality observation

I don't understand the finish on that Winchester steel case. It's not slippery at all and doesn't slide well. It won't function well in my ETS magazines. Tul ammo is a much better choice for steel case. Any steel case ammo makes your gun dirtier because the case doesn't seal in the chamber like a br...

Re: Lefty slide release on SFX?

I’m a lefty and one thing I really like about the Elite Combat is that the slide release is ambidextrous and I switched the mag release to be lefty as well. Does anyone know if there’s an ambi lefty option for the SFX? Thanks! Can't answer your question, but wanted to comment. I'm a lefty and don't...

Re: Any trap shooters??

I shot sporting clays once last year. I think it's similar. Pretty big fun. My buddy did quite well with a 12 gauge pump. I used a 12 gauge pump as well. Didn't do very well my first time out.

Re: reloading self defense rounds

I think similar ballistics would be found in Winchester nato 124 ball. It's basically +P and really reasonable on sale. If you like to reload and want to load hollow points for practice I think that's fine. There has been discussion in the past about using ammo you reloaded in a shooting. Even if th...

Re: Who All is a Competiton Shooter?

My club runs IDPA matches from April thru October every year. I shoot and work almost every match. It's a great means to get in a lot of practice and do things you wouldn't usually do. For example sitting in a row boat holding an oar and the bad guys show up. Our matches are a lot of fun and the sta...

Re: Springfield Armory Hellcat

It looks chunky like my Springfield mod 2, 4.0. For a compact pistol I picked up a 43X. Very thin, nice grip. I'm good with 10 rounds. If you need more Shield arms has created a 15 round flush fitting mag for them.

Re: Springfield Armory Hellcat

I enjoy my SA XD Mod. 2 4" 9mm. It shoots accurate & is reliable. The Grip & Grip angle is great. Only thing I don't enjoy is the amount of trigger creep before you feel the wall. I'm interested in the Hellcat, will have to go check it out soon. https://i.ibb.co/27mPD2C/XD.jpg I have one like yours...

Re: Need some Glock help

I recently got a Gen 5, G17. The slide finish looks super and it is beveled for easy holstering. The mag well is flared nicely and there are 4 different backstraps for it. I have the thin extended beavertail on mine and it feels amazing, grip texture too. I have had Gen 2,3,4 G19s and Gen 4, G20. Th...

Target Sports is my go to. Prime membership will save 50-60 cents per box off regular pricing and if you want to order one box of ammo, shipping is still free.

https://i.ibb.co/2yGjwj8/IMG-20191112-182437934.jpg I have a prime membership at Target. I was turned onto them by a fellow member here. I've purchased a fair amount of ammo from them this year. Very happy with the pricing and service. I got an email from them saying your Christmas gift is on the w...

Re: Disappointed

Shooting offhand shows your accuracy with that pistol. You can put a gritty 12lb trigger in a ransom rest with no negative effect on accuracy. So if I fire Elite 1 with my dirt cheap ammo and I put a nice group at point of aim and fire Elite 2 exactly the same and the groups are repeatedly low and r...

Re: Disappointed

I used to bullseye womp rats in my T16 back home. I think the point that people are trying to make is that unless you do everything you can to reduce/remove variables that can affect a shot, judging accuracy and also precision, is quite subjective. To me, I'm much more concerned about precision. If...

Re: Disappointed

25 yards isn't a long shot. I used to hunt rabbits, squirrels and deer with a 686 .357 mag 6" barrel open sights, farther away than that. That's the most accurate handgun I've ever owned fyi. "firing offhand at 25 yds with dirt cheap ammo doesn't prove anything" So you telling me if a pistol produce...

Re: Disappointed

So, just a fact of the day kinda thing.I believe i can safely take a shot at why they didnt go for a 75 foot shot. The average distance of a home defense shooting is 21 feet. (7 yrds) Special forces training RARELY involves 25 yrds. that would be the distance to zero the 5.56, or 30. matter of fact ...

Re: New CZ addition

I run an 18 lb recoil spring with a stainless guide rode. I don't like the whole double action thing and only bought it because of the manual safety that allows it to be carried cocked and locked. The P07 is one of my most accurate pistols or I just shoot it well.

Re: Good AR optic?

I'm not into spending big money. I've got a Burris 332 tactical scope and really love it. I believe its was $300 something on sale. I have a Sparc red dot that is very nice, bright I like too, $100 something on sale. I've also used hunting scopes like a 4x12 and like those for long shooting.

Re: "Worst gun I ever bought was..."

I had a ParaOrdnance double stack .45. I loved the feel of the gun, I have bit hands and it filled out great. Unreliable as hell. I was lucky to get a full magazine through it. Didn't matter what ammo. This was back in the mid 90's. Maybe they got better but Ill never have one again. Maybe you had ...
