Re: Cleaning a polymer frame handgun.

I’ve been using Birchwood Casey gun scrubber for the last 4 years on all my polymer and steel guns. A quick field strip and hold over a trash can and just spray the heck out of the internals. All the black gunk just runs out the bottom. After a quick wipe down I oil all the moving parts and rails. I...

A SFx offered in 10mm :-BD
Might as well go with a .45 and maybe a .22lr model as well... all 3 good choices.

Re: Conceal Carry Insurance? US Law Shield

I have a class that I am teaching next week on these very topics, Castle doctrine and Stand your ground laws. To me, this is where things can get very dicey, since laws differ state to state. We have castle doctrine and stand your ground, but I don't know if it's interpreted the same in other state...

Re: Conceal Carry Insurance? US Law Shield

I’m using Texas/US Law shield as well. But to address your concerns, don’t put to much into the sensationalism on the news. The DA’s going after defenders are only a very few cases, and even then the law will most likely prevail in the end. Your best defense is to use your brain. The lawyer couple ...

Re: Ammo availability

Average seems to be around .25c per round.. some a little less, some a little more... What's driving me batshit crazy is the individuals trying to sell 9mm for 50 cents and more per round.. AND GETTING IT.... To many new gun owners getting a new gun but can't find ammunition for it so they don't kno...

Re: Observations when buying at Academy

Posts are all pretty spot on. I’ve got 2 classes I’m teaching next week to new gun owners. I’m also holding a free 2 hour course at my church in a couple of weeks. I’ve already gotten about 10 people showing up and expect a lot more to attend. People are scared and want to be able to protect themsel...

Re: Girsan Regard

are these safety only or decocker too? Both, when you pull the safety down it decocks the hammer but then it stays in safe mode. I bought one for a night stand gun. I ended up selling only because I wanted something smaller. I put the D spring upgrade in it as well. I have no complaints at all. Fun...

Re: How to tell when someone in the gun store is full of it

In my NRA Instructor course we had "that guy". A young guy that worked as a security guard... This dude just screamed creepy even before you met him.. Sure enough he regaled us with all of his heroic stories and vast amount of knowledge. It was so obvious that he was a YouTube expert. At one point d...

My favorite is the young guy who wears body armor to the range I work at. He looks like a SWAT wan-a-be reject.
Right now I’m mostly seeing the guys who can barely point their shiny new gun in the right direction trying to teach their girlfriend how to shoot.

Re: Is Classic Firearms screwing you too?

If it makes any difference, my personal experience with CF has been excellent. I’ve purchased at least 5 firearms and several accessories from them over the past 5 years or so. Many online stores are still struggling to keep up with demand. Hate to hear about your troubles though.
