Re: Using Magnum Primers In Non-Magnum Loads

I'm having a heck of a time finding even small magnum pistol primers. There isn't a retail spot within 45 minutes of me that has a single pistol primer. I'm about to start researching loads using the small rifle primers I have with the 124gr plated bullets I have. Be careful if you will be shooting...

I posted this vid in one of our FB groups and mentioned this is why I don't carry micro compacts. Scary stuff. Thinking of starting to carry my CZ P07 with 15 round mags. Right now it's my Walther P99c or Canik SC. I never heard anyone in a real gun fight ever say they wish they had a smaller handg...

Awesome! As someone new to Canik pistols, and unsure about what I need vs. what I "need" to start competing with my SFx, your site looks like it will be helpful to a newb like me.

My measurement was taken with the trigger held at the break point. Probably the difference you are seeing. I've handled (but never shot) the P365. The smaller grip just doesn't fit my hand as well as a conventional double-stack. I think the width of the gun also affects what trigger reach works bes...

On my Elite SC, I am getting similar measurements to you. And you have the newer red trigger safety that is almost flat, correct? Are you getting 65-66mm of reach at the break point as well? The Elite SC is based off the SF Elite, which means if all your measurements are the same as mine, getting a...

In that other thread, the OP measured with the trigger at the breaking point, not at rest. Could that be the difference you are seeing? I missed that important point! However, I think trigger reach to the trigger face at rest matters more than to the break point. I tend to have some difficulty even...

Trigger reach differences?

I hate to admit it, but I have short fingers. I have no future as a piano player. Unfortunately, that also makes it difficult to shoot my SFx properly if I maintain proper grip alignment. On another thread, someone compared the trigger reach on their Canik to their Taurus, and measured the Canik's r...

Out of curiosity, I used a caliper to measure this distance, comparing the Canik to the Taurus. I measured with the trigger held past the take-up, just at the break point. I found that the Canik length was 66mm vs 57mm on the Taurus. This 9mm difference is enough to affect my grip, and the overall ...

I hate to admit it but.. I have freakishly small hands. This honestly isn’t SFX specific , but seeing that there’s interchangeable backstrap option , I was wondering maybe there is a way to modify If I were to grip as high as I can and with full support of my palm/hand on the back of the gun , it l...

Is the trigger reach the same on your Elite Combat and the SFx?

Looking at my Elite Combat and SFX lined up on top of each other, the grips are exactly the same. They are not swappable though as the grip on the Elite models is shorter. Could you possibly have the larger grip installed on your SFX? Nope. I tried the larger one, and it tilts my hand down, and mak...

Man, that SFx Mod. 2 is exactly what I need if the grip has also been changed to match the SF Elite. That ambi slide release is very much needed on a competition pistol! (at least for us lefties)

Got my Sig back, very fast turnaround, and the armorer’s report said it met all factory specs. Took it to the range yesterday and no difference, scratchiest trigger I’ve ever pulled. The range had a new one for sale so I asked if I could try the trigger. Exactly the same. So far three competitive s...

Back straps of SFx vs SF Elite

Are the swappable back straps on the SF Elite and the SFx the same thickness? I shot my uncle's SF Elite much better than my SFx, and I feel like I can reach the trigger better on his than on mine. I thought the grips are the same size, so I'm a bit perplexed. Are the SF Elite backstraps thinner tha...

Well, I managed to take the plunge today. I found a TP9SFx Blackout version for a whopping $460 online! It should be here in a week or two, then I get to pick it up at my LGS. I was hoping they could find one and order it for me, but the only one their supplier had in stock for them to order was the...

The first time I shot a P365, my grouping was terrible. 3X the size of groups I shot with my Shield with an Apex Carry kit installed. The trigger was a little mushier than I liked, but I was accustomed to my Apex trigger. Then I shot my uncle's P365, with a flat trigger from the P365XL and a Hogue H...

What ya want to do with it? Range/home defense I'd get the SFx or SFL. Carry either one of the Elites or SC. It will be both home defense and (eventually) competition. The thing I really love about the TP9SF Elite is the ambidextrous slide release (I'm a lefty). Why in the world wouldn't they make ...

Hello from Nebraska! I'm trying to decide which Canik to get (unfortunately, I can't get them all), and it's all my uncle's fault. He's a hardcore Sig guy (X5 Legion for competition, P365 for ccw, a bunch of other Sigs in the safe), but he stumbled upon Canik guns and had to show me. He had me shoot...
