Re: Good AR optic?

If going for a Dot, then Aimpoint is about as good as you get for durability and battery life.

ACOG is really hard to beat for a durable, low magnification prism site.

Re: New CZ addition

I run an 18 lb recoil spring with a stainless guide rode. I don't like the whole double action thing and only bought it because of the manual safety that allows it to be carried cocked and locked. The P07 is one of my most accurate pistols or I just shoot it well. I’m actually in the opposite camp,...

Re: New CZ addition

Yeah. The P07 seems to hit that “Goldilocks” size. Not too big, not too small, but just right. I was really torn between adding this P07 or getting the P09. But I like my other P07 for carry so much, I figured, “why mess with what is already working?”

New CZ addition

Picked this up. Next step is figuring out what can I want to buy to use with it. Looking at the AAC Ti-Rant, or Rugged Supressors, Obsidian 9.

Re: Romeo Tango Discusses the SFx and Q5 Match

but I can’t REALLY change the grip shape I put a Hogue sleeve on mine and I like it muchly better now. I find the slip on Hogues to be ok. But they add thickness, which can also affect trigger reach. As far as trigger reach goes, the Canik and Walther are already where I want them. I just find the ...

Re: Romeo Tango Discusses the SFx and Q5 Match

Also, it would be interesting to see if the trigger resets are any different with their brand matched slides and frames in place. Sear engagement distances could be slightly different.

Re: Romeo Tango Discusses the SFx and Q5 Match

The one of the things I think Canik could do a bit better, is the grip shape. There is still some blockiness to it on the corners. This is the one thing that could have me look at the Walther over the Canik. I can change a lot of things on a Canik with the money I’d save, but I can’t REALLY change t...

Re: Sig releases new P210.

I checked on gunbroker and found the originals fetching $3k-4K now. So, a half price model may not be so bad.

Re: Sig releases new P210.

One has to understand the original P210 a bit to appreciate one of the new release models. The originals were kind of like a improved 1911. Everything was hand fitted. The slide in frame full length rails were a fairly new thing and with the hand fitting made them more labor intensive to produce. Bu...

Re: Hipocrit fan boys( and girls)

While I was in college I worked at an indoor range part time. Glocks were still “fairly new” in the gun scene. Lots of folks would talk trash about them (mostly 1911 fanboys). We had one regular customer who bought a Glock 23 when they first came out. The range offered free gun cleanings for a year ...

Re: .45 Love.

My favorite 1911 is one I built for Service Pistol matches. Bought a Fusion frame, barrel and slide combo and got to building. https://i.ibb.co/sQR5f9j/30-DA64-E0-14-AA-4-B41-8-D98-3-EF9-E006-B408.jpg I parkerized it and then applied Norrels Moly Resin, and baked it. It is a tack driving piece and I...

Re: .45 Love.

I have a couple favorite .45s. My most practical and most favorite is my Sig P220. Just a very natural shooting pistol for me. First time I shot one, which belonged to a friend, it seemed like I couldn’t miss with it. The P220 went on my list of pistols to buy, when the time was right. About 15 year...

Re: Grips - Form or Function

Sometimes you can get both form and function. I like the traction and low profile I get from these LOK grips, anc they look good on my CZ’s also.

Re: Your First Canik

I bought the SA first. I’d seen a few reviews of the original TP9 and was curious. I wanted a beater that could do some truck gun/bug out bag duties if it proved reliable enough. A pistol that I wouldn’t really care about if it sat for long periods of time not being used. I found one on sale, and ha...

Re: Bring back Drill of the Month Question

I’d vote yes. I created the section, and am a bit ashamed that I let it die off. A lot changed for me upon retiring from the Navy and getting a new job, and being on a path for constant new qualifications, courses and certifications. I’ve had far less range time in the last year and am hardly partic...

Re: Striker or Hammer for Conceal Carry?

I switched from “single action” striker fired pistols to DA/SA pistols a couple years ago. I had been carrying a Glock 19 because it was where I had landed for the most useful size for me with regard to ease of carry and ease of shooting. My switch initially involved going to a modified Beretta Px4 ...
