Re: Canik Noob from So Carolina

Welcome to the forum. How you liking the GSG Firefly? I've been eyeballing them online. The Firefly is just OK so far, first time out, I had a few FTF and lite strikes. So far, I've polished the feed ramp, and I deburred the magazine's lips. Hopefully, that will allow the pistol to run smoothly. Ne...

Re: Steel Tagets are here!!

My friend had some 3/8 targets, then he shot some 7.62x54r surplus at them not realizing it was AP. :)) LOL, that definitely will tear them up. I've read that you can soot .308 and other rifle calibers at 3/8 steel targets, when placed at 100 yards or more. I may see how they do at distance with fm...

Re: Night Sights for Canik (Night Fision and Others)

I've installed several sets now my own and a few for friends. Haven't had any break if they seem to tight file a little bit first. I've installed on glock, canik, cz, m&p and hk.

Re: Steel Tagets are here!!

Looks like 1/2" plate, good weight will last a very long time. Actually, I went with the 3/8 thick steel. I know 1/2" would be more durable, but I'm hoping to have these last me a long while. If I decide to shoot any rifle calibers over 223, I'll probably get some 1/2" targets. But these will mainl...

Re: Black Friday Cyber Monday hauls

It's actually pretty easy but there are some tricks. For instance, getting that pivot pin spring and detent in can be a pain. Also the roll pin for the bolt catch can be a challenge. Other than that, just make sure the hammer spring on your fire control group is properly oriented and you should be ...

Based off my experience shooting ones friends one they're pretty finicky with ammo and made from cheap metal like the walther p22's. Get a Taurus if you want a cheap .22

Re: Canik Noob from So Carolina

Hello, I'm from Hilton Head, SC , moved here 19+ years ago from upstate NY. I'm a semi-retired CPA, and I go to the range twice a week. Currently, my arsenal consists of a Sig P239, my new Canik TP9 FS Elite, and a GSG Firefly .22 for lots of cheap shooting. I just got the Canik, and will shoot it ...

Re: What's your favorite Canik model?

I went to buy a CZ P07 at my LGS, Sam the counter guy, talked me into getting a Canik TP9 SF Elite. Said they are just as reliable, very accurate, well built, and about half the price of a CZ. Won't have chance to shoot it until tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it. Can anyone tell me if it offers t...

Re: Black Friday Cyber Monday hauls

Local Atwood's was advertising Anderson stripped lowers for $39.99 so I tried to snag one of those... "Just sold the last one." Got a rain check though, and they have more on order, so maybe I'll be able to get my hands on one next week. Now, looking for a good resource for a first-time build walkt...

Re: Black Friday Cyber Monday hauls

Send extra BCG's here please :) I'll trade you for an assortment of upper and lower parts. It's sad but I went through all my extra stuff the other day and all I need is a set of takedown/pivot pins, and an upper and lower receivers and I can put together a complete AR... Oh, I guess I need one of ...

Re: Black Friday Cyber Monday hauls

I got an Odin AR10 forend for less than half price ($99). Never had an issue with them and reas...

Re: Black Friday Cyber Monday hauls

Not too much gun-wise or deal wise. I do have a barrel, gas tube and bcg coming my way for the second upper (300BLK) in my matched AR set. Also picked up some Pmags for $8 a piece. Might as well buy as many of those as I can along with ammo. I did get an Olight PL Pro cuz I didn't have a black one ...

SA's my favorite striker Canik shoots like a laser, though I confess no experience with the DA just the SF, Elite, SFX and SA. If you've no plans on carrying it I'd maybe lean SFx

Re: The workhorse in your stable.

For the longest a Gen2 G17 was my main workhorse I had bought from a cop friend over 15 years ago it was well used and had bought it in 88 or 89. I sold it before I moved about 5 years ago. since then I dont know, my SA, old cz75 and G19 are always taken on range trips, the 75 and 19 get carried som...
