Re: Range Set Up (Steel Targets)

Yeah, my conduit stands have a few holes in them and start to bend. Also have stands with 2x3 posts that take some hits. Both of these setups are fairly cheap to replace though. Same, my conduit didn't last long. Too many bullet holes from people. I really do find the shepherd hooks to be fast and ...

I have some of these that I use with 3/4" (I think) conduit. Works alright but can be a pain to setup and the targets then end up hanging pretty low.
This is what I have. Kind of a pain, not too sturdy, targets sit low they slide around.

Re: Range Set Up (Steel Targets)

Have you tried the Highwild AR 500 Target Stand Kit from Amazon? I have something similar to it. If I had a stationary site for shooting, it would be fine. But since I use a public range, I found it a little annoying to set up and tear down. But, the Highwild kit might be nicer than the one I have....

Re: Range Set Up (Steel Targets)

Do you think if you drive a wooden stake directly behind the hooks, and zip tie it to the hook, would it reduce the swinging? I'm sure it would, but that would defeat the purpose of having a quick set up and tear down. If your sights are going to stay in place, then the shepherd hooks may not be wo...

Re: Range Set Up (Steel Targets)

Here's today's set up. Added a taller double shepherds hook, that you can see towards the back. With 22lr, no problem. Did swing a bit with 9mm. Might just use it for 22lr only and use the single hooks for higher powered rounds.

Range Set Up (Steel Targets)

We don't talk much about portable range targets, so I figure I'll share what me and my range partners do. We all pretty much bring steel targets, except for when we're sighting in an optic, irons, etc. We've changed our set up over the seasons, and lately I've been primarily bringing steel targets o...

Re: New Canik in the house

Congrats on the Elite. One of the best shooters I've ever owned. It's on the bigger side for carry, but I do carry mine sometimes in the winter when wearing bulkier clothing. Give us a range report once you get a chance to take it to the range.

aw some FEDERAL 124 GR. 50 round box for--Wait for it-- $50.
That's insane. Unfortunately when our small LGS in my area have 9mm, they are charging a ridiculous price too.

Just for kicks I stopped back by Cabela's tonight. Ammo was wiped out. I'm afraid it lasted less than a day so the demand is still there.
Damn, I was hoping things were starting to normalize.

Re: Went into Dicks Sporting Goods today for ammo

Stopped by Cabela's this evening. Must be nice. I really wish we had more options in my area. I'd love to have a Cabelas, Bass Pro or Academy. I did notice today online that ammo is staying in stock longer. It's still expensive, but it's staying in stock. So hopefully things are calming down and I ...

Wow. Target Sports has had some white box 9mm in stock (at $600/case) for more than 24 hrs.

Maybe this is the beginning of the end...
Let's hope so. I used to order cases online, and I miss those days.

and uses a portion of their profits to advance Liberal gun control legislation. Wasn't aware of that. I quit going to Dick's when they pulled all the AR's off the shelves and cancelled orders a few years ago. Haven't heard about them using their funds to contribute to anti-2A legislation. If that's...

The addiction is real. Just embrace it and accept the fact that your wallet is going to be lighter for awhile.

Welcome (even though a bit late) to the forum. And congrats on the SA. It's a great shooting gun and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Down the road, I definitely recommend the DA if you like DA/SA handguns.

Re: Lowest Price on SFX I’ve seen lately

Saw a new SFX for $429 and a much higher priced one at Bass Pro right down the street. Darn good price for an SFx. But, I suspect gun prices are going to come down if people stop buying since they can't get ammo to feed them. Is $430 for a case of 1000 the going rate these days? Not as horrible as ...

Re: Went into Dicks Sporting Goods today for ammo

Today the Field and Stream had rows of 9mm in stock. So my wife ran over there for me and bought a few boxes. I guess I'm a sinner. I'll take what I can get wherever I can get it. My reserves are pretty good, but I like to shoot a lot. And for a decent price, I'll restock from wherever I can get it ...

Re: Went into Dicks Sporting Goods today for ammo

all the Dick's stores up here in my part of the country, cleared out all such items. I hope the Field and Stream continues to sell ammo. We don't have a lot of options in my neck of the woods. I really wish we could get a Cabelas, Academy or Bass Pro. But I'm sure our area is too small for a store ...

Your lucky to have a Field & Stream store, because the regular Dicks sporting goods have stopped selling all firearms and ammunition.
Ahh, so that's probably why the post above yours mentioned no guns and ammo. So I guess it's in the Field and Stream stores only.
