One point he did mention was a lot of people had hesitations with RDS's due to potential field of view blockage. Imagine an officer involved shooting and the officer has a red dot. There could be all sorts of arguments about whether there was obstruction of vision, did the officer properly identify...

For my personal guns, they’ll have to have an optic option out of the box from here on out for me. Wish I had options with duty guns, but thus far, It’s irons only there.

The recoil spring and striker spring are engineered to offset each other. If the recoil spring strength is reduced, the striker spring can hold the slide out of battery enough that it could cause those failures. I’d try replacing it with the red 28n Glock striker spring or any of the other reduced p...

I’m a relatively new canik convert as well, and the best advice: Enjoy. There is simply not a better competition pistol on the market for less than $1000.

I ran a bunch of the Winchester “USA Forged” steel case 115gr through the SFX today, and thus far, I haven’t seen any of the ammo issues (outside of initially breaking it in) that folks have been complaining about. It seems that the newer Caniks have been adjusted for the American market and non NAT...

I think the weight change had more to do with getting certain other guns to be legal for the division. Specifically a Czech and and Italian that are popular production guns. That being said, it is the Indian not the arrow as stated earlier. That’s why a guy like Jerry Miculek can keep pace in the op...

I’m using a holosun 507c, and I don’t think there is a low battery indicator. It will run solely on solar power, but I make a point of changing my battery twice a year as well as a precaution. I set a reminder on my phone to warn me every 6 months that it’s time to swap out. I also re zero afterward...

Simple solution...just buy a regular one and grind down the pin!!! :-D Just don't forget to swap in the "LIVE ONE" before the match!!!! Personally I think it's a bad idea overall.... Your breaking almost every tenet of firearm safety practicing with live ammo thinking your gun is in...

DSfreit, you must know someone who reloads who could make you up some dummy rounds.. they probably wouldn't want more than a few dollars for the bullets... have you asked around? I think that’s probably what I’ll have to do if I want to get them at a reasonable price. The only ones I have found tha...

Anyone know where I can find realistic weight dummy rounds (casing and bullet, no powder or primer) for training. I can’t find anywhere that sells them in packs of more than 5, and I would like to have 80-100 rounds so I can practice with full magazines, giving me realistic weight on the belt and fo...

You may also have a minor index problem. Try dry fire practice with the dot on the SFX for a while, and see how it performs in a week or two once you’ve found your index with it. It’s likely that you just index your 1911s better because you are more familiar with them physically and mentally. Using ...

The ATF is trying to change the form 4473 to make a national registration easier. It moves the gun information and your name to the top of the first page so that it is quick and easy to collect. Shot the Blackout in the department “backup” qualifications today. Used 115gr federal American Eagle. 0 malfunction and a perfect score. I think the recoil spring just needed breaking in. I also added the larger backstrap because it seems to fit and function better for my hand that way.

I saw that, and I think that may be the path I take since you can find commander springs just about everywhere.

Is it true that the x5 guide rods fit without an adapter?

I’m keeping my eyes open for either a solid replacement spring and guide rod set or 124 gr NATO ammo. You can contact Century Arms and they will send you a lighter RSA for free. Thank you. I am aiming more toward competition with this pistol, and I am afraid even the lighter RSA may not be enough. ...
