Re: Whose got a Burnt Bronze DA?

I had a BB TP9DA and sold it to a young friend. It was just to "pretty" for me to use hard :o, but it did convert him into a CanikFanatik. :))

I replaced it yesterday with a black TP9DA and it shoots great. Like my DA/SA German SIG's, you have to learn the DA stroke to get hits.

Re: What's on your "must have" buy list for 2020?

Another Canik TP9 DA in black. I sold my burnt bronze one to a good young friend of mine, which has now caused him to catch the Canik bug. I didn't really love the bronze finish anyway.

Don't overlook the TP9DA. IMO, one of the best HD guns out there.

Re: Low PF 9mm for us non-reloader competition shooters

Well, I had a chance to use the new Federal Snytec 150gr load that I ordered and I like it. It has a few benefits, one being less felt recoil and no backsplash on the close metal targets. 200+ rounds with 0 malfunctions in my Canik TP9SFX.

Re: Good deals on bulk 9mm?

Buy someone's reloads? Never! We are<IMO< at the bottom end of the price curve for excellent brass cased 9mm ammo. Buy it in bulk now before 2020 rolls around. SGammo has been my go to seller for many years. Mix and match types of ammo for one low shipping charge. The website will tell you how many...

Re: Open carry at Walmart.

I don't understand open carry out and about in public. Up the mountain/in the woods, fine. I have seen too many idiots with no situational awareness and a pistol haphazardly clipped to a pair of shorts in a crappy UM "holster" just waiting for some mouthbreathing idiot to grab it. I want to be incog...

Re: SFx finish

Hmm. My SFX FDE finish is holding up very well. I have drawn it hundreds of times in 3gun matches. I am using a Safariland 578 type Large/Long holster which probably helps. It is an adjustable holster with retention and allows the pistol to drop in without much contact. I highly recommend this holst...

Re: TP9 Sub Elite is almost here!

This new Sub Elite pistol in a DA/SA variant would be THE perfect carry gun. I'm not as enamored as I thought I would be with my new TP9sf Elite. Grip length is fine but the barrel/slide is one inch too long. YMMV

Re: My pants are falling and ......

I've been using one from bluealphagear for the past year or so called the low profile belt in gray.
It is a stiff but comfortable minimalist belt and since I mostly wear an untucked Carhartt T-shirt in the Summer, I don't care particularly what the buckle looks like.

Re: Retention vs. the rest?

Concealed: No retention
Open Carry: Retention always but never Serpa for a striker fired gun. I like Safariland.

Re: Mobile 1 Lube for TP9SA

Shell Rotella 15w-40 synthetic diesel oil on all my 3gun firearms and all the other firearms as well. I've used it for years from 0F-90F with no issues. No corrosion issues ever but I live in a high dry climate where corrosion isn't much of an issue unless you get snow on your tactical bolt gun and ...

Re: Canik TP9DA in FDE or Burnt Bronze??

I'm not looking to sell this Canik. It is a wonderful pistol, very similar to the Walther P99 that I had 15 years or so ago. I was just soliciting information on the finishes available. I recently purchased my first Canik, a TP9SFX in FDE and it has taken the place of my modded Gluck 34 for 3gun an...

Canik TP9DA in FDE or Burnt Bronze??

Does the Canik TP9DA come in Flat Dark Earth or just Burnt Bronze? I ordered one that I thought RSR indicated was FDE but when I opened the box it was a cerakote Burnt Bronze frame and slide. Perhaps RSR had a misprint on their dealer website? The listing is gone now and they only show the black mo...

Re: Holster Question: Self-Defense vs. Competition

Very good advice so far about starting out with an OWB holster and clothing issues to pay attention to.

Remember to slow down and pay very close attention to finger off the trigger and no clothing interference when reholstering. That is the time that bad things can happen to the inattentive.

Re: Ultrasonic cleaning of firearms

So far I've only used the HF ultrasonic cleaner to clean AR bolt carriers/bolts. I mix warm water with about 20% Simple Green. Seems to work well.
