Re: Scary, but true (Red Flag Laws)

Over the 4th of July weekend, we went to Brad's house and he has a ton of guns. And look how the media hypes up an "arsenal" or "stockpile". They'll show 5 guns and a thousand rounds on the news when someone is arrested and make it sound like they are preparing for Armageddon. Heck, I buy ammo by t...

Re: Scary, but true (Red Flag Laws)

Yeah, it is exaggerated but it can be scary. I think it's more of an issue with a jilted lover or something along those lines. You have a falling out with the wife and she in turn "flags" you to get revenge, money, the kids, etc. I have also tried to be more cautious about who knows that I have guns...

Re: What's your AR Red Dot choice?

Prices on those new ones seem a bit high. If they have optional auto-dimming like the 507c then it might be worth it. Personally, I'll wait for the prices to come down a bit. I think they are fairly new models so the prices are high. I do agree with TL1000RSquid's comment about an etched reticle bei...

Re: What's your AR Red Dot choice?

The Holosun 503GU is what I have that I mentioned earlier. Picked mine up for $130USD back in April. Has great battery life, shake awake and multiple reticle options. If shopping now, I'd look at the 503 models that have the solar panel much like the 507C reflex sight. https://holosun.com/index.php?...

Re: What's your AR Red Dot choice?

I like the Holosun with the circle dot. Same reticle as the 507c. Can't remember the model offhand but I'll add it later. Also have a couple Primary Arms red dots that are work a look

Ok...brass. I read it as your bullet was only going that far when you said "shot out the chamber". I blame a long work day...

Just ignore me :D

Re: Reloading with sprinco recoil management

wow that video helped understand a lot what should be going on. My 1st 50 reloads definitely shot out the chamber about 4 or 5ft from me. My chronograph just came in the mail today so i will keep experimenting. I hope you are kidding about the 4-5' thing. Obviously I don't know you or your level of...

Re: Magazines

I think people have modified Beretta and maybe CZ mags. But, with the cost of those other mags and the effort to modify them, it's just as easy to just buy Canik mags. Just look for good deals.

Re: "Hell, yes, we're going to take your AR-15!"

Hmm, from what I'm reading, it sounds like he was more indifferent and didn't care about guns versus what I would consider the "other side of the line". He just didn't have a line. Which is where I think a good majority of people really are. They really wouldn't care except for the public shootings ...

Colion is awesome. It is funny because he used to be on the other side of the line on guns.
Interesting. Do you have a link or can you explain more about his past?

Re: Mete

Showing my ignorance but does Turkey use the Imperial system for measurement? I thought it was just us in the US that don't use the metric system commonly. If they don't, it's odd that then this video would seem to be targeted at the US though we can't have them. Also, I want magwells! They come opt...

Re: Mete

Canik's Turkish site now has an entire e-catalog on the Mete series if you are interested in some serious Canik porn: http://www.canik55.com.tr/pdf/mete_series.pdf . Mmm, gun porn.... =P~ =P~ =P~ I'm still surprised that they market their stuff with Olight products when I've documented and even hav...

Re: Mete

Yeah, they have. The problem, I believe, is that there just isn't room for an RDS without losing the rear sight

Re: Mete

I really like that the new slide cut leaves the rear sight in place. This company listens to its customers. Yeah but it only accommodates the micro RDS's (or whatever they're called) which severely limits your choices. And from what I have seen, you are looking at $400 for one versus the going rate...

Was able to find this pic of the SF Mete-S.
Hmm, that photo doesn't appear to have the optics cut.

Edit: Nevermind, it's there I guess. Just hard to see aside from the bolt hole at the top.

Yep, looks good. What did you use? I've used model paint in the past but I'm leaning more towards fingernail polish lately.

Re: Need Frame

I think the metal parts inside the frame are serialized. The frame cheap plastic and I don't think the little metal tabs for the slide to ride on will last very long. Why don't you think it will last long? So you don't have any issues yet? People have put thousands of rounds through their Caniks wi...
