Re: Disappointed

Everyone has their own levels of acceptable accuracy. When it comes to a manufacturer deciding if it’s within warranty standards it may not meet your own standards. So you have to be wary about saying a pistol or any gun is not “accurate” u less it has a specific guarantee and it can’t perform to it.

Re: Long range reloading

Indeed wep. I feel certain calibers have no reason not being 1 MOA or better...308, 223, any .264 diameter or long standing rounds. Plenty of time and loads to work on to get you hitting tight groups. Nearly every .243 (6mm) round option I have touched is 3/4 MOA or better so I have higher expectati...

Re: Long range reloading

When it comes to rifles , 1 MOA is my baseline or minimal acceptable accuracy goal. If I can’t get a bolt rifle to 1 or less it is sold or donated to family as a deer hunting gun. Or if I feel some weird pull it goes into the project pile to be used for Frankenstein projects later.

Re: Long range reloading

Weapon..... you complete me. Always get a baseline of your rifle as weapon said with a factory load. This does several things: 1. Checks rifle for any obvious issues. If it shoots all factory Ammo bad then as Wep mentioned the rifle may have issues. 2. You may find that the factory Ammo fits your ne...

Re: Long range reloading

308 is much more forgiving then say 6 or 6.5 Creedmoor. I have yet to mess with the 178 ELDs of any sort I have had decent results with the 165 BTHP. The ELD line is solid in the .243 & .264 line of bullets. Not so much for the .224 line. Again those are my personal experiences. I see many folks hav...

Re: Long range reloading

308 with 175 or higher weight pills( the Juggernauts by Berger are 185 g and beasts but a good economical choice is the Sierra Match King non tipped at 178g) as for powders you can get there with so many options but Varget is easy and tends to work for a lot of folks.

Re: Long range reloading

Lapua brass will help in terms of cost to reload and better primer pocket life. Is it the magical pill for accuracy? No but it’s consistent between pieces and that’s what contributes. If you have shoddy reloading practices it won’t matter. The key to the long range game is anal retentive and remove ...

Re: The day has finally arrived——

While the gun laws are nicer in TX I admit, I just can’t handle the heat and traffic of San Antonio. I will end up in VT and Canada more then anywhere and VT is a constitutional carry state!

The day has finally arrived——

Yes Canik comrades... my retirement has finally arrived. I venture forth onto my new chapter of life. 27 years of Air Force now in my rear view mirror. I leave San Antonio for the communist state of Connecticut, and share my time there, Vermont and Canada near Edmunston where the family enjoys land ...

Re: 1911 .45acp questions

After several sessions with her I think the trigger is pretty damn good as it sits. I was thinking of changing earlier but man it’s hard to think that it can be that much better( I know that’s self told BS, of course I can make it better) I am just gonna keep mind melding with it until I figure out ...

Re: Shooter's World Powder

My bolt action Grendel is a workhorse if a rifle. It has hunted, varmitted and 1k target shot all in the same week. 3 white tails , 24 hogs, an aoudad and 12 yotes in 6 months of ownership... 50-400 yds ( those aoudads are a pain to get close to). It’s currently my “One rifle to rule them all” until...

Re: 1911 .45acp questions

I recently went through the same thing you are. I searched, held, fired and basically nit picked for months. I held the 3200 dollar options and the 400 ones and had difficulty feeling difference minus the triggers being more refined. Slide fit was exceptional on all the guns I handled minus the Taru...

SFx and T100 owner here and anxiously awaiting the elite compact. Love both my current Caniks and carry my T100 99/100 when I go out. That 1 of 100 was when I got my 1911 and had to feel like a old schooler for a hot second and strapped it on my hip for a run to the store😊

Re: Shooter's World Powder

This stuff in rifle ( I have the tactical and hunters) works comparable to if not a little above most IMR variants. The tactical has near identical performance to AR Comp in my findings (223, 308 and Grendel). I am testing sensitivity to temp swings and so far it’s OK.... not great but ok
