Re: recoil springs

Why don't you just email Century Arms customer service. They'll send you an entire RSA that's lighter than stock for free. There are several RSA's from other guns that will work. In one of my SFX's, I'm running a SS guide rod from a Glock 17 with a 13# flat wire ISO spring. The other one has the lig...

Re: New TP9sfx Owner

You wanna see DIRTY????? Shoot some Aguila or Winchester NATO 124's. After a match I practically have to chisel the carbon off my feed ramp with the NATO rounds. That stuff is nasty. However, it's very accurate so I just overlook the dirt.

Re: Aftermarket/Replacement Slide for TP9SFX

Don't quote me on this, but I seem to remember seeing a video of a Walther PPQ slide being fired on the SFX frame and vice versa.

Re: Best mods for sfx for uspsa light loads

@Retiredtrooper Found your pics on the FB PAGE, that’s a nice looking rig! :-BD I see you are using a Comp-Tac International, which I use for my 5” M&P. Does the M&P holster work for the SFX as well? Can't answer that one. They make the International specifically for the SFX. I had to modify it so ...

Re: Best mods for sfx for uspsa light loads

Freedomsmith trigger will all but eliminate the takeup from the stock trigger. About 2mm before you hit the wall. It's worth it. I just installed their "Racer" on my 2nd SFX this afternoon. The reduced plunger spring is also worth it and will lessen/eliminate the grit in the pull. You may want to p...

Re: Post your "MATCH" videos/pictures here.

My club is in the process of affiliating with USPSA, switching from IDPA. Our match director is a bit demented which makes things interesting. I'm a big fan of the USPSA format: Here is the problem.....SOLVE IT. You'll love it. We shoot one USPSA per month, and one Steel Challenge.

Shot IDPA for 3 years. Club recently changed to USPSA...which I wholeheartedly applauded. We shoot one USPSA per month, and one Steel Challenge.

Re: Failure to eject

You need some ammo with a +P rating in the stock SFX for breaking in the spring . Easiest way to get it is to go to Walmart and pick up a couple hundred rounds of Winchester 124gr NATO ammo. Sells for about $27/150. I bet your ejection problems go away. Contact Century Arms and request their reduced...

Re: Talon Grips

I had the granular on a G34, and have the rubber on my SFX, and I prefer the rubber by a WIDE margin. My hands sweat, but don't have a problem with them at all.

Re: Second muzzle brake session.

The NATO ammo dirties up the works real quick, including the feed ramp. Since I started shooting that, I'm cleaning after every range session/match. Works very nicely with the compensator. So does the Speer Lawman 147.

Re: Spring change with mag extensions?

Springs arrived Wed., installed in all mags. Easy to see the difference in wire size. These are pretty stiff. Wouldn't want to load these by thumb alone. All mags now load 21 rounds, and have run 100% through 400 rounds. Oh yes, the slide actually locks on an empty magazine.

Re: Spring change with mag extensions?

Seeing you have new springs coming, take the one that's giving you trouble and stretching it out some and see what happens. I already did that with all 5 of my springs. Actually had one hang up in another of my mags. I polished the feed ramp for good measure. These mags with stock springs are ridic...

An email to TF got me a response with two recommendations. The one I chose was their 140mm spring for the Smith M&P. Ordered five of them. Should be here Thursday.

Spring change with mag extensions?

I've got 5 mags for my SFX, all fitted with Taylor-Freelance +4 extensions. Out of the 5, four of them feed reliably. In my last match I had one mag that would totally hang up the gun about halfway through. This is the first problem I've had with any of them. The spent case would eject, but the slid...
