Re: Jacketed Bullets

X-Treme bullets are manufactured by Freedom Munitions. I've never loaded them, but their 147 grain FMJ's are VERY accurate in my SFX's. Their 115's work well in my Elite. I have a large supply of that bullet loaded as their remans. At 25 yards they'll cut one ragged hole with my CZ Scorpion and are ...

Re: Cleaning a polymer frame handgun.

You can purchase "Gun Scrubber" by Birchwood-Casey that's specific for plastic guns. Couldn't find it anywhere, so Amazon to the rescue. Only thing is that you have to buy it in multiple can batches.

Re: Shooting gloves

For colder weather, I use a pair of winter golf gloves. Not bulky and won't keep your hands toasty warm, but I use them in our USPSA matches in wintertime and they work very nicely. For warm weather, my pistols are all fitted with the TALON grips. My hands don't slip and yes, I do sweat.

Not exactly a machine gun, but my first choice would be an H&K MP5SD.

Re: TP9SFX Blackout - review from a Glock convert

If you want to play tuner, a steel guide rod from a Gen 3 Glock with the Gen 4 adaptor works very nicely in the SFX. You can fine tune by ordering the spring weights of your choice.

Re: It's official.. I'm better with iron sights

I know I'm better and faster with irons than a red dot. I suffer from hand tremors. Some days not so much, other days.....OMIGAWD!! When they hit, trying to shoot a red dot is like watching the paint shaker at Sherwin-Williams. On my calmer days they're fine, but I never know until match day how the...

Slower burning powders will give more flash because it's not all being used in the shorter barrel.

Re: Low PF 9mm for us non-reloader competition shooters

Up until they kinda went balls up, I would have recommended Freedom Munitions 147grFMJ. I have a closet full of their remans. Soft shooting and VERY accurate. Trouble is, their pricing now is more than what you can get factory new ammo for. I've talked with a few shooters who are using the Federal S...

Re: LGS new steel targets

When you're "shooting stars" that arent already spinning, (the spinning ones are more like something from a sideshow than a match, IMO), always shoot the top one first. Shoot any of the others and it will start moving on it's own. You'll like the steel.

Our club has the one shown on the right that our demented match director inserts in the darndest places. We also have the regular Texas Star.

Re: Picked this up at the LGS..test run tomorrow...

Haven't received them yet. Ordinarily I dont shoot Rem ammo EVER. It goes back to an experience I had with them in my gun writing days, but since it was on sale and I'm a little low on .300 I just thought why not. When they get here I'll post the results.

Re: Picked this up at the LGS..test run tomorrow...

Yeah, you have to use match ammo for the best results. Interestingly, my accuracy AR15 loves both 55gr Hornady Vmax and 77gr Sig and Federal Match. I haven't even seen any 77gr loads for sale. I'm keeping myself in the poorhouse shopping for both 5.56 and .300aac. I just picked up three 160 round t...

Re: Picked this up at the LGS..test run tomorrow...

Thought I'd touch on the initial range testing of the .223. I used 3 different loadings of 55gr, and two 62 gr. Got things centered up and shot at 100 yards on paper. This one definitely favors the 55gr loads, although the 62gr loads weren't far behind. Best groups came with Hornady Frontier 55gr BT...

Nice topic , I always like to learn quality diffrence in AR production . Just wondering something. Is that all AR in USA meet with Mil Spec requirments. is that mandatory? And AR shooting fun always with Canik :) https://i.ibb.co/1QVC6HS/4-BC78380-A53-E-4-B1-F-B2-B5-7-B001-CFA93-F6.jpg Very nice lo...

Re: Picked this up at the LGS..test run tomorrow...

Looks really cool. Hope you got a good deal on it. I'd just bought a "cheaper" AR. The only thing I could say about it was it went bang when you pulled the trigger. It would group just so-so out to 50 yards. At 100 yards, it wouldn't even hit the paper. I surmise it was made on a Friday afternoon j...

https://i.ibb.co/ZW79Mhd/100-0453.jpg It was used but not abused. Spiral fluted heavy barrel in .223 Wylde. Has some parts from BCM and Diamondhead. Has an aftermarket drop-in trigger that's pretty nice...way better than military standard, and that muzzle brake is a nice addition. I added the scope...

I was discussing this with another "super senior" at our last shoot. 40 years ago it was about winning. Now.....it's just about having fun. Crazy shooting positions?......still easy to get into...but impossible to get out of...at least with any speed. I also suffer from bouts of hand tremors. Try sh...

Re: Good AR optic?

I have 3 AR's currently. My 5.56 sports an Athlon "Talos" 4-14x, and my 300 Blackout has the Athlon 1-4x. Both have mil-spec reticles. I also have a 10.5" 300AAC pistol with adjustable arm brace that carries a Vortex Crossfire with a set of AR sights mounted 45 degrees offset as backup.
