Re: Pulled the trigger...1st Canik

Good choice, I bought the same model because a sale made it just too good to pass up and another canik had me convinced they were good guns. Mine has been flawless from day 1, fed reloads, cheap factory ammo and some good self defense type ammo without a hiccup. I hope yours turns out to be just as ...

Re: I had a good day!

This month, shooting the TP9SFX with Red Dot I managed 5/15. 1.9 seconds better and I would have been third but I clipped a non Threat for a 5 second penalty on my very last stage. I had about five people ask me about the gun and were amazed when I told them the price. Oner stage had you sitting at ...

Re: S&W Shield or Sig P365

I had both. I carried the Shield for a good while and I really liked it. I kept it for a long time after I got a 365 and the Shield still felt a little better in my hand but the extra ammo capaacity pushed me to the 365 for every day carry. The world is getting crazier and crazier and 11 rounds of g...

I had a good day!

Not really sure why but me and the canik TP9SFX were in sync today. Monthly GADPA match. Seven stages, two with electronic movers, one in the shoot house and a good many tough targets but it just worked out for me. It was 89 degrees but humidty was a little lower than normal and I was not only shoot...

Mine has been holding up really well and I have drawn it a bunch from a kydex holster. I hope maybe I got one with a good finish!

Not shooting but last week I had to run our indoor match and I served up some real evil. I built the movers from scratch and I am not a carpenter in any way or form.

Re: Thursday Night Indoor Match Results

I tried shooting my TP9sf Elite in last nights match. Not quite as sure as I am when shooting SFX with dot but still managed 7/19 overall against probably 5 guns with optics and one open gun and I have to draw from concealment. 3 out of 7 in Concealed Carry Division, Elite is a fine gun and fun to s...

Re: TP9SF ELITE SLIDE RELEASE MOD. TO MAKE IDPA CCP LEGAL

I have not but some quick measuring looks like you would have to lose 0.83 to be legal. The entire right slide release could be removed and an inside squared washer could be put in it's place on shaft and pinned with original pin. That way you wouldn't have to grind on the slide release unless a rep...

Re: newb looking for range ammo advice

I stay with 124gr and if you are not going to reload, go with whatever brass cased ammo you can get the best deal on. You can check prices on sites like AmmoSeek and Ammograb but I usually get my best deals in emails from places I buy ammo, guns and parts. Target Sports USA usually has a great deal ...

Coming out of the USMC after four years and starting a new job at Delta Air Lines in Aircraft maintenance in Atlanta.

I stayed on the job for 32 years until they offered an early retirement!

Re: Need opinions

I currently have a Glock 19 gen 3 and a G19 gen 5. I also have a 19X and a G21 .45. I mainly have them as I shoot some of the Glock matches and they won't let me shoot my Caniks! As far as grip angle and shootability my SFX and Elite beat the Glocks in every way. I moved from Glocks to CZ's because ...

Re: 135gr Acme plated bullet load data/experience

I have loaded the 135 gr bullets from Acme,Bayou and SNS, I find them a good compromise between the 125 and 147 gr and have a little more oomph for knocking down steel. I have found 4.0 of W231/HP38 at 1.100 will give me a power factor of 132 average . Comfortable and accurate bullets. I shoot a lot...

If youi are going to put an optic on it, I think you are on the right path. I think the taurus will be fine for whatever you want to do with it. Not yet. We have a box at our new reopened range. I remember buying the inserts but I am not sure they may be pre 2017 old dimensions. We are not IDPA there any more.
I will check it next thursday and see.

For sure in IDPA you would be in Carry Optics and can have magwells and all the same mods as an ESP gun!
In USPSA also Carry Optics but I am not up on all the rules.

Thursday Night Indoor Match Results

With new owners at local range we are back to running our twice a month indoor pistol matches of which I am Co-Match Director! We shoot GADPA which is a blending of IDPA and USPSA. I was 8/19 overall and 2/8 in Concealed Carry Division and top Distinquished Senior 65+. CC requires shooting with conc...

Not really broke. Amazingly at 72 1/2 I have never broken a bone, never been in a hospital for anything other than routine and never really been sick so even with my whining I know I am blessed.
