Re: The Offical Red Dot Thread

For EDC and Competition where all your shots are less than 20 yards, I find the larger dot quicker to acquire and easier to put on the target up close. Usually the 3 moa dots and lower are the choice for rifles, obviously for long distance shooting and precision pistol shooting. A 6 moa dot will co...

Canik Kydex Magazine Carriers!

I did some searching for some magazine carriers I could use in IDPA and some other competitions. Some searching and some helpful people I learned CZ75 pouches will work just fine. So while searching I found these on ebay. (Kydex Single MRD Mag Magazine Carrier for most Canik Models by 1441 Gear( Act...

Re: Ordered TP9SFX FDE +Range Report

What a sweet shooting gun. Was about 35 out and sunny when I went to the outdoor range. I set up three IDPA type targets and one with some circles to get the red dot sighted in. I set it on top of the front sight at home and at the range it just needed to come down a little. I shot about 70 rounds o...

Re: Canik 01 Optic Mounting Plate

I think a little light bulb came on and I solved the mystery. First thing I did was remove and pack away the sight plate and "screws". I never thought I would be reusing those screws and I was able to get the helicoils fixed. 30+ years as an airplane mechanix must have taught me how to fix a lot of ...

Canik 01 Optic Mounting Plate

I installed the 01 plate on my TP9SFX and tried to install a Burris FF3 which should use that mount. I do not haqve any screws with the Burris or with the Canik that will mount the Red Dot. I messed with all the screws that came with the Burris and all I have done is buggered up the helicoil threads...

Re: Ordered TP9SFX FDE

Alright, things are progressing! Picked up the TP9SFX from my FFL this afternoon. Looks and feels nice. Got home and took it apart, nice looking on the inside too. Nice workmanship. I cleaned it up. Installed the Galloway trigger and safety plunger spring and a Glock 6.5 striker spring and polished ...

OK, how do you start in completion?
Search and see what is in your area. Read thier rule book and then go watch a match and talk to the shooters.
They will let you know what you need to get started and are usually very helpful.

Re: Talon Grips

I have used both and rubber and granulated. Talon used to only have granulated and they do grip well but are very rough and will tear up a moisture wicking shirt by rubbing on it. Now I use soft rubber ones. I used to use talon but when they doubled the price I have only bought Traction grips and ne...

Re: Who All is a Competiton Shooter?

I have been shooting IDPA for about 12 years. I also work at least two matches a month as a SO and until our local indoor range went belly up I was Co-Math director for a two night a month indoor match. I have shot IDPA with revolver,CDP,SSP,Esp and lately carry optics with a CZ P-07 with Red Dot I ...

Re: Preferred Ammo for your Caniks

I ran a couple boxes of the German MEN 124 gr. NATO ammo through my TP9SA when I first got it as well as some 124 gr. FMJ's I had reloaded with no issues. These days all it gets is a steady diet of my NOE 124 gr. TC cast lead bullets, powder coated and sized to .357" behind 5.0 grs. of Power Pistol...

I just bought one yesterday at another place for $10 more and thought it was a heck of a deal.

It is funny that only the FDE's are discounted!

I have several of these holsters for different guns with and without attached weapon lights.
While mine are OWB they do sell straps to make it IWB.

They are attractive and well made holsters at a good price!

Re: Ordered TP9SFX FDE

Oh, I have nothing against FDE or Coyote or any other color (Not Pink). I have a Glock 19X in Coyote, I had a CZ P-09 and an FN FNS-C in FDE and I have a Glock 19 with FDE bottom and black top. I just was not considering FDE for the Canik but was leaning towards Tungsten but for the price I will lik...

Re: PT9SFX and IDPA

I was the SO for a guy this past Sunday shooting the TP9SFX with a Vortex Red Dot. It looked like he had the standard 20 round magazines and with the cut out in the IDPA box for optics, it fit with no problems.
I didn't know I would be buying one this soon or I would have looked closer.

Ordered TP9SFX FDE

I wasn't really wanting an FDE but I didn't really care either. I had just got an email from Kentucky Gun Co and they had Desert Tan for $479 which I thought was alittle high so I searched Gundeals and Wiki arms and G4G Guns had it for $415 and $15 shipping so that pushed me over the edge and I orde...

Hi my name is frank and I am old :-D I am a longtime gun owner, CCW Carrier and competition shooter, reloader and handgun hunter.
