Re: New Canik Suggestions

Answered you other post too - run a couple of boxes of NATO (124gr is what I used) through the Elite, and it should break in the RSA. You should be fine after that with lighter ammo. Not sure what Glocks you've owned and shot, but everyone I know who has/had Glocks seems to love Canik's smooth perfo...

Re: Hello From Florida

Elite - Run 100 rounds of 124gr Nato though it, and the RSA will work itself in. You will be fine.
If you were a Glock guy, the Elite should blow your mind when you shoot it. :)

Re: New Canik Fanatik shirts added

Hi Janik,
Last night I was looking at the site, and I couldn't find any of the "team" shirts - personalized with name, etc. Where are they located? I am interested in getting one.

Thanks!

Re: Reliable 22lr Pistol?

My only 22LR Pistol is the Beretta M9-22LR. I learned to shoot on my father-in-law's, and quickly bought one for my wife and I to continue to train on. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it shoots flawlessly, and very smoothly. I know we quickly gained confidence by shooting decent groups c...

Re: CANIK TP9 SUB ELITE

I'm glad it has a storage "bin" in the upper part of the case vs. the foam insert. The foam crap always falls along with everything underneath it every time the case is opened. Silly little thing, but an improvement, which is always a win.

Enjoy it! :)

Re: CANIK TP9 SUB ELITE

Sometimes rubbing CLP or Ballistol on the outside only of the mags, then wiping them dry, is enough to remove the "dryness" of the mags, if they are just sticky, and it is not truly a fit issue which needs the sandpaper/dremel/emory board. We had to do this on my fath-in-laws older S&W 9mm when he g...

Re: What's a good home defense 9MM round?

I switched from Speer Gold Dot and Hornady CD to Black Hills Honey Badger "Scallopted" Tips, in 124gr. They feed and shoot fine in my defensive guns. Expanding bullets (HP's) may slow quicker because they expand. The scalloped tip cuts, or pokes a hole and rotates (shredding) with good penetration. ...

Re: TP9SF Elite 1500 round update

Because it's in my carry rotation at least 60% of the time, I use it the most during my defensive handgun training. I am now quite confident that it wouldn't let me down if the SHTF.

Re: Whose got a Burnt Bronze DA?

I really want to get the kit too, but am rather clumsy with doing that kind of work on my guns, so keep shying away. It's pretty ridiculous to pay a gunsmith to do it when it looks so easy on the videos. Gotta work up the courage, and get the right tools, etc.

Re: Weaponizing a PT111 G2?

Nice! I ranged tested the newer G2, and it did feel pretty nice in my hands and I shot it pretty smoothly. At $198, I almost got one last year, but I'm a lefty and passed on it due to no slide lock on "my side" of the gun.
Curious about the new G3 too. Wish it was full-ambi.

Sorry Janik for posting these pics here too, but It's all I have handy at the moment. Thanks for giving me the nudge to do the color fill, though yours looks fuller than mine. As well, I followed up on your purchase of the grip too. Can't wait to try it - I love it on my Elite! Mine is relegated to ...

Re: Greetings from way way west of Chicago

I am familiar with Waterman, next to Hinckley. Through other pilot friends, I know Alan Able, the proprietor/manager of the airfield, and have been there dozens of times for fly-in's, parties, etc.
Never knew there was a private club there, pretty cool!

Welcome!

Tejas Grips

No the greatest promo pics by any means, but wanted to show Mike's grip on my DA. Once I saw it on Janik's, I knew I had to have it! After I color-filled the branding black on the slide, I figured black wouldn't take away from the burnt bronze, but compliment it nicely. Great stuff, Mike - thanks! :...

Hey gang, Just hoping the gent is ok. I enjoy his posts and vast collection of sweet looking 1911's. I'm a railroad enthusiast, so picked up on his sig name pretty quickly. ELite-S & DA are my Caniks. :) My wife is planning on the Elite SC very soon for her small EDC. (Her larger EDC is an H&K VP9, and my current smaller is the Beretta APX Compact) Ah, the anticipation of the new arrival. From what all I know of the SFX, you won't be let down.
