Vehicle Gun Safe - Temperature Concerns?

Hey Fanatiks, For those of you in the routine of locking your gun(s) in a good safe, in your vehicle, what if any concerns are there for guns being in a very warm car for hours on end, day after day? My wife can't bring her carry gun into work, and ordered up one of the Hornady safes, buy I can't se...

Re: Night Sights for Canik (Night Fision and Others)

NF on my Elite-S, though I have nothing to compare them to, personally, since they are the first night sights I've had on one of my guns. Went with white ring on front, and the U-notch with just the vials on the rear. No issues with how they illuminate. I stayed with the U-notch because I really do ...

Re: Pistol shooting diagnostic targets

Hi 37L1, Please don't mistake my question for being argumentative, but isn't it the reverse, unless I am misunderstanding your comment? If you can shoot at distance, you could shoot close is what I've been taught, and makes logical sense.\ My instructor always stressed that I work my warm-up drills ...

Re: da owb kydex holster

The tacticalmeasure may be one I look at for my Elite, thanks for posting that link. I like the Clinger Ultra Conceal I have now, but the rear loop (on it's own screw mount) always swings, and eventually gets real loose when sliding onto my belt, or removing from the belt. I have applied clear nail ...

Re: da owb kydex holster

FWIW, my DA fits in my Elite holster pretty snugly, which is a Clinger Ultra-Conceal OWB. Clingers holsters can be converted to IWB, or even another holster type with swapping parts. I know it doesn't have J-hooks, but figured I'd link you anyway in case you haven't seen it. They do make model speci...

Re: Commercials and Gust Stars!

Sorry Mike, just seeing this now, and a little late. There are two stations we get on our cable package. One is SPTMA, the other OUTHD. They carry shows such as "Guns & Gear", "Handguns & Defensive Weapons", "Gun Stories, hosted by Joe Mantegna", "Shooting USA", "GunnyTime", "Guns & Ammo" and more. ...

Commercials and Gust Stars!

Hi Fanatiks!
Was pretty excited to not only see a full blown Canik commercial/add when watching Shooting USA last night, but noticed that on tonight's Guns & Gear, one of the feature stories is on the Elite & Elite Combat.

I think we have arrived! :-D

Re: Pulled the trigger...1st Canik

"I'm hoping it will be a shooter that is reliable and accurate!" Oh Yes, a winner in this respect. Stiff RSA, so running a couple of hundred rounds of NATO seems to be the common remedy. Read some of the posts here about people (including me) who had early growing pains with FTF, or slide not locki...

Re: Neil from South Africa

Essentially in Illinois, we can't "hunt" for the bad guy, unless there are good guys in other parts of the home that would be in danger. So, for my wife and I living alone (and assuming we are in the same room at the time of a break-in), I can set up a perimeter, shout "stop commands", but must wait...

Good luck and stay safe for all you south states members getting the strong arm of the storm. Up here, bbq at in-laws tomorrow. Took grandson for mini-golf today, and he got his first 2 hole-in-one's! Yesterday, small block party at neighbors, pulled pork and smoked brisciut, and much gun talk. Rang...

Re: Solid black U-notch rear sight?

My Elite had the Solid U-Notch rear, and fiber optic front, so must be the SF.
I liked the U-Notch so much, I made sure to stay with one when I swapped on the NightFision sights.
