Re: Buy it cheap, stack it deep

I cast my lead bullets and buy my jacketed ones. I have noticed that Rotometals has raised their lead prices, (I was buying foundry lead and mixing it with soft lead to make Lyman #2), and not as many good hard lead deals on ebay. Clip on wheel weights are about a thing of the past now. Get em while...

Re: bore diameter?

Yep. I'm reloading 358-125-RF bullets. I tried them 358 and 357. Squeezed 357 with 3gr 700x or 5 grains of Longshot, oal 1.017. 45-45-10 lube. Longshot has the edge on the 700x but they both shoot great. Longshot having the softer recoil. I tried CFE with 4.8gr being the best for a group but not tha...

Re: Slide issue?

On lubing the firing pin. Use something dry like Otis dry lube if you decide to lube it, some don't like anything on the firing pin assembly. I forgot to mention that.

Re: Slide issue?

I didn't notice anything bad the first time I tore mine down. And of course I was a little PO. But watching that video told me it was right there somewhere so I put the eagle eye on it and found the casting or whatever it was. I sanded that down plus shined and lubed up what I could with 400grit so ...

I didn't hear they might close, but I did hear they finally started catching crap for dropping Black Rifles.

Re: Looking to upgrade my sigle stage press.

I have a Rock Chucker I got over 30 yrs ago To load 308 and 357. You can't break it. It was slow but relaxing for me. Then I picked up a coupla semi auto pistols. So much for relaxation. Then the Piggyback came out. I kept my eye on it for some time thinking I should get it for the Rock Chucker. The...

Re: Slide issue?

Problem solved. I took the firing pin assembly back apart and took a closer look at the firing pin. When sliding the the pin back and forth in the slide it was sliding rough/gritty. At the end of the pin assembly by the pin itself were a coupla humps on the side . (slag?) I took some 400 grit wrappe...

Re: Slide issue?

I cleaned and lubed the striker assembly. Nothing looks bad there. When I pull the slide back a little it still hangs up. Guide assembly is correct.

Re: Slide issue?

I clean and lube after every shooting session. Dad always made me do it. LOL. I really like Hoppe's Gun Medic. I always need it for my waterfowl guns. Cleans weed seeds, mud and gunk right out. It keeps you in the blind. Yep it's expensive, but I always keep a can in my shooting bags. Referring the ...

Re: Slide issue?

Aha! After watching the video, I think this could be the problem. When I push the striker back it's not coming forward smooth. It may be hanging with the slide on. I'll order that spring and let ya know how it worked. Thanks!
