A common cause of pierced primers with auto loading pistols is a shorter than normal cartridge case that causes incorrect head spacing or a misshapen striker or firing pin. I've also seen pierced primers with a revolver that has excessive end shake.

I just got the 4000 124 gr FMJ and HP bullets I ordered from RMR Sept. 9 2020 so they are still shipping it just takes about 10 or 12 weeks to get your order. The good news is the price is still $82 per. 1000 with free shipping for the FMJ and only a little more for the JHP.

I have found after switching to Sport Pistol powder my pistol brass don't require as much cleaning. I've stopped using the pins and depriming before wet tumbling about an hour in the tumbler and it's done. I'm a volume shooter and reload at least 1,000 per setting Sport Pistol has been a real time s...

Even if things get back to normal ammo, primers and bullets will be in short supply until our US supply chain can catch up. All of the raw materials like copper, brass and lead are imported from over seas the EPA shut all the US plants down many years ago. I've been an avid shooter and reloader for ...

For any Dillon owners wanting to run a Mr. Bullet feeder in station 4 and a powder check in station 3 DAA now sells a extra short Dillon powder bar that works without hitting the bullet feeder and it's max capacity is about 20 gr. The one down side to using the extra short powder bar is having to se...

It's kind of strange that such a crappy firearm would be the best selling CC pistol in the USA for 2 years in a row. I will admit mine went back to Sig twice before I was happy with it but not because of the trigger. The striker cover plate kept slipping down when I would rapid fire mine. The most a...

When I'm in a hurry and need a bunch of clean rifle or pistol brass I use my Frankford arsenal tumbler with DC brass cleaning concentrate it only takes 10 min. per load. I have found I can use the concentrate twice and a 20 oz. bag of concentrate is $14.00 and it makes 8 gal. of concentrate. That wo...

If your shooting a tuned revolver like a vintage S&W or Colt avoid CCI primers also many auto pistols with action work or lighter than stock springs will choke on CCI primers. For small pistol primers I'll choose Federal, Winchester or Fiocchi in that order. You will also find that Federal and F...

The new Dillon xl750 was redesigend and you can't use a powder checker and bullet feeder because of the location of the dillon powder measure. The RCBS measure will work and give you room to run both powder check and bullet feeder. I have an old RCBS measure from my single stage press that will work...

I've seen several people with bullet feeders are using a RCBS measure that is case activated on their Dillon 750 I might give it a try if I can find a kit to upgrade my RCBS measure.

18 fps isn't much change I have had that much change from one powder lot to the next or from going from Winchester 231 to Hodgdon HP38. I was just trying to show I found very little difference between American made Federal sm. primers and imported sm. Fiocchi primers. I'm going to change my press ov...

I just finished a batch of 9mm 3400 rounds of 124gr PD jhp's with my xl750 the last thousand were with Fiocchi primers and I'm happy to report the Fiocchi primers take less force to seat than Federal or Winchester. Using mixed range brass my avg. fps with the Federal primers has been around 1,077 fp...
