but it felt much better to me.
And that is what matters, what feels good in you hands.
That's what I thought for a long time.
Then I discovered the one that centered the pad of my finger on the trigger, or came the closest, made me shoot better.
So, for me, that's what matters. :-D

Will be buying a red dot soon for a sfx, All I have ever used is EO Tech, what is a decent lower priced one with a reticle like a circle & dot that is dependable HELP! In no hurry but soon will get it. Old eyes here don't see as well as they used to. THANKS! Circle/Dot for a pistol pretty much come...

Re: The Offical Red Dot Thread

I still have to order mine. I have a Holoson on my CZ Scorpion EVO. The Circle/Dot setup doesn't do much for slow fire target shooting. But for combat/defense, it lets you acquire the dot and get it on target VERY fast. The 32 MOA circle is better suited to pistol use/range than the 65 MOA on the ol...

Re: The Offical Red Dot Thread

Has anybody mounted a Holosun 507C sight on a Canik? If so, which plate worked?

I'm getting ready to order one for my Combat Elite.
I'm certain one of them will work. If nothing else, I'll just see which one matches the 507C screw pattern.
No problem with screws, I have many different sizes.

Re: Romeo Tango Discusses the SFx and Q5 Match

I had a Q5 long before I heard about Canik. After researching the SFx, I bought one.

I have to agree that neither gun does anything the other can't. However; the Canik has the edge on price.
I'll keep both, thank you.

It also has American size 1/2 x 28 RH threads instead of 13.5 x 1mm LH.

I had to muscle mine off the first time.

But I'm 71 with arthritis in both thumbs, so it probably wasn't all that tight. :)

Re: Canik Warranty issues?

You can't always compare one gun to another. Some fit really tight, others not so much. The gun that fits tight will begin to "wear in" almost immediately. Yes, it is normal. The parts on your gun are beginning to mate to each other. If you tear down a car engine with only 25 miles on it, you will s...

Re: Removing barrel from slide

To those with "tight" barrels". If they are not a problem, don't send them out to get fixed. They will wear in, and probably have a tighter than normal lockup -- more accurate. They may have more wear marks on the barrel, but shoot better. No, I've never had a Glock with a tight barrel. Glocks are l...

Re: Shot the Elite Combat and SF Together

Thank you for your thoughts, and wishing your girlfriend a speedy and full recovery. My issue was a stomach ulcer that rubbed through an artery. On my second night, I started bleeding again, and it took me out. Luckily, I realized something bad was happening, didn't know then I was bleeding, and hit...

Re: Shot the Elite Combat and SF Together UPDATE

I haven't updated my thread in about three weeks. So I felt it was past time. I reached the point that I was ready to start shooting again. So I got ready for Monday. I bought a 50 round pack of Federal Premium Law Enforcement Tactical HST, 124 grain +p, 1200 FPS. Except for the hollow nose, they ar...

Re: Shot the Elite Combat and SF Together

Thanks. But having 8 pints of blood doesn't make you feel tough.
They don't "fill you up" any more. Getting blood has become pretty risky nowadays.

They top you up to 7 pints, and let your body build the rest.
But I'm getting there. Getting back into life is part of it.

Re: Shot the Elite Combat and SF Together

I have just gotten around to following up on the TP9 SF stovepiping the last round with Hornady Critical Defense. As I said before, it only seemed to happen with one magazine. I spent a week in ICU with a stomach ulcer that opened an artery. I went Code Blue and had to be rescuscitated. So now I'm g...

Shot the Elite Combat and SF Together

It's been two weeks since I bought the TP9 SF. My, how time flies. I now have three Caniks, and wanted to compare the SF and Elite Combat. On the outside, the two pistols do have a common size and feel. However, the Elite has a better trigger and a more polished feel. I'm aware that the two guns are...

Academy does have a SFx that comes with a Vortex, also for $ 729.99.

I got both at a 10% off sale. That took some of the sting out.

Re: Canik TP9DA Burnt Bronze

Well, I went to Academy yesterday. They seem to be the only store in town that carries Canik. They had a DA and a SF for the same price, and I liked the SF better. They had a TP9 V2 in.the back "on special" for $319. It had a non-functional decocker. I really wonder how long it has been in the back ...
