Re: Cast Bullets Keyholing

I'm sizing most of my cast bullets to .357, now that I've had the chamber throat opened up I'm going to try some .358 bullets. I slugged my bore and it came out at .3565 so .357 is about as small as I can go.

Re: Low PF 9mm for us non-reloader competition shooters

I cast my own bullets and reload. My 9mm is running me $5/100. I've been running a 150 gr bullet with 2.7 gr Ramshot Competition. The brass rolls across the back of my hand. It's VERY soft shooting but runs my SFX with the stock RSA. Another load I've been using is a 130 gr cast hollow point with 3....

Re: .45 Love.

High end Kimber? Is that like a high end Hi-Point?

I wish Canik would build a .45 styled like the SFX. I'd be on that like white on rice.

Re: Sfx groupings

My SFX with my handloads is a one hole gun. At 10 yards with the red dot, I've put 20 rounds into one ragged hole. At 15 yards it opens up a bit, that's me, not the gun. My buddy shot it off a rest at 25 yards and put 20 rounds inside a 2" sticky note. He's waiting for GrabAGun to get them back in s...

This is a thicker oil that's also very stringy. Stays in place. Much less oil splatter on the lenses of my Vortex.

Re: TP9SFX Plunk test

It all depends on bullet profile.

I'm sending my SFx barrel out to be throated. It should stop the leading problem I've got and will also allow me to seat those .357 sized bullets out to a normal length.

Re: Reloading with best Dies

Dillon dies.

The sizing die is belled for easy feeding and has a spring loaded decapping pin to prevent drawback.

Separate crimp and seating dies. The seating die is very easy to swap the seating stem on without changing any settings.

Barrel question?

A little background. I have a SFx. I've slugged the bore and it's .356, this means I need to shoot a .357 cast bullet. Anything less causes leading. However getting .357 bullets to chamber is pretty hard. I'd like to have the barrel throated but need to know if it's salt bath nitrated aka melonite o...

Re: My Super 650 Dillon Build

I purchased my second 650 last year. Now I have one set up for small primers and one for large. What it really means is one set up for .45 ACP and one for 9mm. A couple of nice enhancements are linked below. https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Original-Dillon-XL-650-Missed-LIVE-Primer-Chute-Ski-Jump-Fix-Up...

Re: Preferred Ammo for your Caniks

Almost all the ammo I use are my reloads using bullets I cast. The load that my SFx loves are these. Ramshot Competition 2.7 gr under a 147 gr RN no lube groove bullet from a MP mold. It cycles with no problem. Is very soft shooting and extremely accurate. I can fire one round, put the red dot on th...

First match...

I shot my first match today with my TP9SFx. I haven't seen the results yet but I think I did pretty good. I had to use factory ammo and it was shooting low with my red dot. I had the blue RSA with me but just shot the factory ammo so I knew I'd have no problems. After the match I put in the blue RSA...

Re: Fobus?

I was hoping to save a few bucks. I've used a Fobus with my 1911 pistols with no problem. I went ahead and ordered a Comp-Tac International. I don't want or need any levers or buttons to hit to draw. My club doesn't require it and my CCW holsters don't have such a thing. I really want to try the Dro...

Cast bullets?

Who's been running cast bullets in their TP9SFx? Pretty much all I shoot are cast. I cast all my own bullets because I've got lots of time on my hands and I really enjoy it. Anyway I had some pretty bad leading in my TP9SFx from my reloads. The same reloads give NO leading in my Ruger PCC. I haven't...

Re: What powder Powder/Primers

I've been using a lot of S&B primers. I stocked up back when Cabela's had them on sale for $17.50/1000. Even today at $28/1000 they are a good deal.
