Re: OAL On 9mm 125GR Lead Poly Coated Bullets

My Canik TP9SFX and SF both had very short leades in the barrel. This caused me to have to seat bullets deeper than I wanted. I sent the barrel to CylinderHone on Facebook, DougGuy over at Castboolits and he throated the barrel for me. This solved the problem and allowed me to seat my .357 bullets o...

Re: Logbook on ANY firearms?

Some of y'all really need to see a head doc about that OCD.

I typically take anywhere from 5-12 guns on a range trip. I normally carry around 10k rounds of ammo in my truck. I don't have time for all that stuff. I do keep a record of make, model, serial number and what the firearm has on it.

Re: Should I be disappointed or not?

I've bought two Canik pistols. There are no "seals" on them. My SFX had a sticker on the slide but my SF ONE series did not. The Green Canik "swag" was on the trigger guard of my SFX but was loose in the box with my SF ONE series. A smart dealer will open the box to verify the serial number so they ...

Re: Where Can I Find A 6 Cavity 9mm Hollow Point Mold

I've never seen a 6 cavity hollow point mold. My best advice would be to get a MP 6 cavity brass mold and have it converted. It's going to be a very expensive mold when you get done. IF Eric can do it and I stress the IF, it's going to run $300 to convert a 6 cavity mold. If you're still looking I h...

I wouldn't shoot 9mm major in ANY gun not built specifically for that purpose.

Re: 9mm chamber checker

The EGW is SAAMI spec with NO THROAT. It has a very hard time with bullets larger than .355. The trick is to know how much you can have them stick out and still function in your gun. As stated above bullet profile makes a HUGE difference. As long as they fit and function in your firearm don't sweat ...

Re: Cast Bullets Keyholing

I know this is a few months old. But I did some reading on this type of issue. I'm sure most of you know about the need for a certain hardness but I thought I would add that here and invite forum opinion on the effect of harness of the bullet ability to following the rifling. In the case of the cas...

Re: TP9V2 just died

I picked up the V2 from the gunsmith. He said that the 4 frame rails seemed to be "pulled up" from the frame. This made the slide move up and down with enough distance to not allow the gun to go into battery. He attempted to compress the rails and was able to get some movement downward. He also gro...

Long time 1911 shooter here, get what you want 1st time if possible always get something others like incase you sell it to upgrade, remember most of any $$ spent to "customize" something is lost forever get what you want, today in Dallas I saw a mint STI Spartan $580 out the door with 3 mags and bo...

Damn, the reading comprehension here is severely lacking.

I bought a TP9SF One Series. Not an SFX, which I already own.

Second Canik

I discovered the Canik One series today. I've got a Canik One SF waiting to be picked up at Grab A Gun.

$303 out the door here in Texas.

Re: 1911 .45acp questions

1. Decide what sights you want. Changing sights on a 1911 could require milling of the slide.

2. Decide what beaver tail grip safety you want. Different styles require different frame modifications.

Those are the two most important points I can make to the new 1911 buyer.

Re: Cast Bullets Keyholing

I'm sizing most of my cast bullets to .357, now that I've had the chamber throat opened up I'm going to try some .358 bullets. I slugged my bore and it came out at .3565 so .357 is about as small as I can go.

Re: Low PF 9mm for us non-reloader competition shooters

I cast my own bullets and reload. My 9mm is running me $5/100. I've been running a 150 gr bullet with 2.7 gr Ramshot Competition. The brass rolls across the back of my hand. It's VERY soft shooting but runs my SFX with the stock RSA. Another load I've been using is a 130 gr cast hollow point with 3....

High end Kimber? Is that like a high end Hi-Point?

I wish Canik would build a .45 styled like the SFX. I'd be on that like white on rice.

Re: Sfx groupings

My SFX with my handloads is a one hole gun. At 10 yards with the red dot, I've put 20 rounds into one ragged hole. At 15 yards it opens up a bit, that's me, not the gun. My buddy shot it off a rest at 25 yards and put 20 rounds inside a 2" sticky note. He's waiting for GrabAGun to get them back in s...

This is a thicker oil that's also very stringy. Stays in place. Much less oil splatter on the lenses of my Vortex.
