Re: Freedomsmith trigger = light strikes

Alright, The striker channel is clean and dry. The pistol will launch a brand new pencil about 6" above the muzzle. I primed 10 resized cases and they all went bang. So I loaded up the other 90 rounds. They all drop and spin in both the barrel and my EGW case gauge. I headed to the range and no joy....

Re: Freedomsmith trigger = light strikes

Factory ammo was Winchester White Box and some Federal.

I've had the slide off and everything looks like it should.

Freedomsmith trigger = light strikes

I installed a FS trigger in my TP9SFx and started getting light strikes. I changed out the striker spring for a Glock 6.5 lb spring. That actually made it worse. It's barely dimpling the primers now. This is on handloads and factory ammo. I know there have been a couple of other posts about this but...

Re: HELP! Lost spring!

Locking Lever Spring, PATP008-TP9

Taken directly from the TP9SFx parts list.

The spring under the part that keeps the slide on.

Just noticed the correct part number is 8. Chanaged above.

HELP! Lost spring!

My fat arthritic fumble fingers were installing my Freedomsmith trigger yesterday and managed to lose the Locking Lever Spring. It stuck to my finger and then fell off onto the shop floor of no return. Has anyone found a easy to obtain replacement? I've contacted Century but with SHOT show being las...

Re: Preferred Ammo for your Caniks

Almost all the ammo I use are my reloads using bullets I cast. The load that my SFx loves are these. Ramshot Competition 2.7 gr under a 147 gr RN no lube groove bullet from a MP mold. It cycles with no problem. Is very soft shooting and extremely accurate. I can fire one round, put the red dot on th...

Re: Snap!

My Vortex is dead.

I got the replacement screws today and went to put them in. Tried to turn the Vortex on and nothing. Pulled the battery, 3.3 volts. Tried shimming the battery, still dead. I guess I'll be contacting Vortex.

Snap!

I headed to the range today to test some new loads in the SFx. I found an awesome soft shooting load that uses the standard recoil assembly. While shooting the supplied Vortex quit. I removed it and replaced the battery, still dead. Went to remove it and put on the rear sight and one of the mounting...

Guide rod help...

I'm a bit slow and not real bright, like most Marines. Can someone give me a link to the correct guide rod to use in my TP9SFx? I've got some loads that are right on the edge of working in my Canik. They work fine in my Ruger PCC. So I need a bit lighter recoil assembly than the blue one from Centur...

Re: New SFX adds.....

There's no need to clean the screws provided with the SFx as they have reusable thread locker on them. If you need to replace it Vibra-TITE thread locker does the same thing. You can remove and replace the screws and the product still works.

First match...

I shot my first match today with my TP9SFx. I haven't seen the results yet but I think I did pretty good. I had to use factory ammo and it was shooting low with my red dot. I had the blue RSA with me but just shot the factory ammo so I knew I'd have no problems. After the match I put in the blue RSA...

Re: Fobus?

I was hoping to save a few bucks. I've used a Fobus with my 1911 pistols with no problem. I went ahead and ordered a Comp-Tac International. I don't want or need any levers or buttons to hit to draw. My club doesn't require it and my CCW holsters don't have such a thing. I really want to try the Dro...

Cast bullets?

Who's been running cast bullets in their TP9SFx? Pretty much all I shoot are cast. I cast all my own bullets because I've got lots of time on my hands and I really enjoy it. Anyway I had some pretty bad leading in my TP9SFx from my reloads. The same reloads give NO leading in my Ruger PCC. I haven't...

Re: What powder Powder/Primers

I've been using a lot of S&B primers. I stocked up back when Cabela's had them on sale for $17.50/1000. Even today at $28/1000 they are a good deal.
