Re: Went into Dicks Sporting Goods today for ammo

That's fantastic that Cabela's is beginning to have ammo in stock again, and at normal prices too!. Maybe there's hope for a stabilization soon.

Now, about those primers...

Re: Went into Dicks Sporting Goods today for ammo

I will conserve ammo to the point I stop shooting before I ever spend a dime at Dick's/Field & Stream. Their leadership is hard-core anti-2nd amendment and uses a portion of their profits to advance Liberal gun control legislation. It's unconscionable for anyone who values their right to keep and be...

Re: Mantis X10

I have one if the original MantisX devices from when they first came out. I used it at home a fair amount when new, but I rarely get it out anymore. The gun won't fit in the holster with it installed, so no draws, and it doesn't record well during live action shooting when rapid movements are involv...

Re: Compete or save ammo..

That depends on your budget and/or how bad you want to shoot... If you've got nothing but pricy self defense rounds, I'd probably skip it. Since I reload and I'm pretty well stocked, I've shot more matches and more practice rounds this year than ever before. If I had to purchase off-the-shelf ammo, ...

Re: CANIK TP9SFX vs WALTHER Q5 MATCH POLYMER FRAME

Canik being an aerospace company is a rumor/belief/fantasy that has been floating around America for a couple years. It's possible that it stems from the parent company's Facebook page that is listed as an aerospace company, undoubtedly because if they were listed as a firearms maker, the psycho lib...

The Supreme Court; your vote, your future

It's probably a pretty safe assumption that nearly everyone on this forum believes the 2nd amendment of the Bill Of Rights needs to be preserved. But what about our friends, co-workers, neighbors, and relatives? Do they understand we're facing a hyper-critical vote for President that will fundamenta...

Primers??????
Though i had roughly 5k primers at the time, just as the Vid was gaining non-stop attention and the run on ammo began, i ordered 5k of primers and another 4 lbs of SP from Graf's. It was probably among the last they had.

DG coated 135's

65 lbs of love arrived today from DG Bullets! My usual USPSA round is Acme 135 RN, but like many makers, they don't have any, or limit your purchase to 500. I found DG on the Brian Enos forum. They've only been around for a couple years, and reviews were positive, so why not? No limits, good price, ...

Damn, could you guys blow some of that rain up here? We are dry as bone with nothing but 90's for the next few days. Neil 8-) Ugh... We'd be happy to share! We're at that point of being sick & tired of the constant rainfall. It seems like it's rained some every day for more than 6 weeks. Just check...

Re: Ammunition and Reloading Supplies At Gun Shows During Pandemic

I would be shocked if any gun shows have vendors that attend selling primers, powder, or ammo. They would have sold everything they had locally, or via their usual sales network prior to the overhead expenses of show travel.

Re: TP9 SFX trigger pull weight?

Don't chase a low number just for the low number; you'll likely be disappointed. Instead, strive for quality in having a crisp, clean trigger pull. A precise 3.5 lb trigger is far better than a mushy 3.0 lb trigger. If you like to tinker and you're mechanically inclined with proper tools, it'll be f...

When I lived in NC we were members of a... 'big' church. The main campus is on 63 acres. Two services on Sunday morning with 2000+ in each service in the auditorium, with another 500-800 children & teens in another wing. The infant/preschool section by itself is bigger than 90% of most churches. Yea...

If you can find Federal small rifle primers they are said to have a softer cup than some other brands.
As pistol primers go, Federal are soft as fresh Wonder bread, Winchester are as firm as stale pizza crust, and CCI are as hard as rock candy.

Re: Using Magnum Primers In Non-Magnum Loads

I've never used magnum primers myself, but just last Saturday at a USPSA match (BTW, we were both awful!) one of my close pals and I were talking about the subject. He regularly switches back and forth between regular and magnum and claims they don't shoot any different, don't feel any different, an...

Re: Logbook on ANY firearms?

On every firearm purchased, I take a photo of the receipt (as it has all the info) and upload the photo to Google Drive. Done. It's easy to look at my purchase history at Acme, Bayou, Gallant, etc as to how many projectiles I've bought. And since I almost never use store-bought ammo anymore, even us...

So... I'm down to only 5k primers, which makes me nervous. I suppose there's no hope of finding a case of 5k anywhere, is there?
