Re: Click, click, no bang

Of course, keep it, but If you look closely I'll bet Century sent you one of the newer machined striker assembles. If so, dry-fire to your hearts content; you're not going to hurt it any.

Re: Hornady Subsonic 147 grain.

Make certain that whatever ammo you decide to "carry" will actually feed and fire in your pistol. Don't assume. I've got a couple pistols that will not eat the aggressive cone shaped projectile of self-defense ammo. They hang up on the feed ramp.

Re: *HELP* - Magnified Shooting Glasses

I went to an optometrist who is an active sport shooter, so he "gets it". He set me up with single vision lenses, but each side is different; the right lens is front sight distance, the left lens is far distance. They work phenomenally well for me. He recommended Oakley lenses due to their clarity a...

Re: Click, click, no bang

Been there, done that. Broke the tip off when my SFx was fairly new, Century replaced it. Then a year or so later, i started having a weird intermittent light-strike, and the striker was acting funny; didn't feel right when trigger was pulled. As i pulled it apart to diagnose the problem, the tip fe...

Re: Bullet legth

Bullet shape has everything to do with how long a round can be and fit into your chamber. Absolutely agree 100%. Shape is a huge factor in both plunk and feed issues. Look how pointy the federal projectile is compared to the other two... Like Leon, i can load Acme 147 and 135 very long for the SFx,...

Re: New P365....Sucks!

I suppose every make and model has lemons, but this is the first negative comment I've ever heard about a 365. I know three guys who each have one and they love them. In all fairness, a small gun like that is going to be much harder to shoot than an SFx. Did you attempt to clean it? Maybe some grit ...

Re: TP9SFX doesn't like Syntech Action Pistol

... This batch of ammo I have is the flat-nose Federal Syntech Action Pistol at 150gr/890fps. My TP9SFx does NOT like this ammo as well, even with the "light" RSA - I'm getting "ramp strike" FTF on the flat nose for about 10% of the shots. This tells me that the ammo is too "soft" for the even the ...

Re: Guide Rod

Would the Springco Recoil Management System be easier that getting a W74 Guide Rod Spring One is no more difficult to order than the other. I've used a Sprinco for over two years with great success, but I've heard more than once that delivery times can be quite long in obtaining one. They are also ...

Re: Anyone still waiting on a stimulus check- like me?

Just a few days ago i was informed that since i paid-in (vs a refund) in 2018, i get a check instead of direct deposit. I go to the IRS website, and it says the check was mailed May 22nd. Oh hell. We've moved since the 2018 return was filed, so it would have gone to our old address. My wife went to ...

Re: Canik Basepad +2

I'd be surprised if you can find just the OE basepad separately. You're probably better off buying a Taylor Freelance version. +2 or +4 in several cerakoted colors, plus heavy brass versions.

Re: Guide Rod

I agree with Leon. Using 124's with Sport Pistol, you're going to need at least 3.7 grains, maybe 3.8 to make 130 PF. On a separate issue, you need to either burn the recoil spring in with some high PF 124 NATO rounds, or change the recoil spring assembly to a lighter version, which leads to changin...

Re: Finally finished setting up my press

Did you chrono them? Curious about FPS. I made my first test batches and waiting on a window to chrono them with my buddy. I'm setting up competition rounds. 3.2, 3.4 & 3.6gr of Sport Pistol. Aim is to be right at 130 PF. Fiocchi small primers Bayou Bullets 145gr coated round-nose bullets 1.145 +/-...

Re: Optics Questions

The easiest way is to get a red dot with 'shake awake' technology. Basically turn itself on with movement. Holosun, Swampfox, Trijicon, etc have this tech. Some people go for an always on red dot and just switch batteries often. To further Themist's point, some of the optics will literally run for ...

Re: Memorial Weekend, any big plans?

No big actual Holiday weekend plans, but on a Covid-related note... One of my buddies owns two vacation rental homes in a big complex in Myrtle Beach. In late April when rumor went out that SC was going to relax business restrictions, I called him up and asked if people had been cancelling reservati...

Re: Just starting to get into reloading (another one)

Rather than the grinder stand that's always in the way, mount your press to a plate, steel tubing, or board. When it's time to use the Press, use a couple of Harbor Freight adjustable clamps to hold the plate to your work bench. When done, remove the clamps, move the press to storage, and your bench...

Re: The Reloading Itch Has Started

LT, from your photo, it looks like you're using coated bullets... For crimp, press a few together without primers. Smack them, pry on them, try to pull them apart to ensure you don't have too little crimp. If they move in any way, such as oal changing, they're too loose. Another test is to put them ...

I can't find a Venom 6 MOA any where. I saw some other post about a new model coming. If that is correct, does anyone know when the new model will be on sale? Any suggestions on another choice? I don't think I want a Holosun. Maybe a Burrus. I already have a Venom and very satisfied with it. Any he...

Re: CCi Small Pistol Primers vs Federal Small Pistol Primers (Regular & Match)

A couple months back, just as the hysteria started and the word went out that 9mm ammo was getting bought up, i scored a box of 5000 Winchester primers from Graf's along with a 4lb mug of Sport Pistol. I have been using TightGroup and have been very happy with it, but I keep hearing good things abo...
