Re: What's a good home defense 9MM round?

Do you know the two loudest sounds in the world? A click when you were expecting a bang, And a bang when you were expecting a click. Ultimately, the best home defense round is one that goes bang. Everytime. Fancy tapered nose rounds look really great right up to the moment the second round in the ma...

Re: Promag TP series, do they work?

I bought my sfx from deguns a couple years back. No complaints, perfect, smooth deal.

Pro mag may have improved, but my experience with them years ago was very negative. I'll stick with Megcar.

Re: Tested TF Weight Kit

'm shooting my first match tomorrow with the W74 guide rod. Please give us a range report after the match. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. Shot an indoor match this morning and remembered to bring the hat cam! Good match, gun performed well! Here's a video from the second stage. Decided to sh...

Persistent rain 3 weekends in a row has delayed progress. Sunny Monday thru Friday, then Saturday rains turn the raw clay into a quagmire. Finally a dry weekend! The Mrs and I worked hard sat and sun and were able to get the fertilizer and seed down on the slopes. 2/3 of it covered with straw blanke...

Re: Hello from Northern Michigan!

Hey guys, new to the forum. I am a licensed FFL in Northern Michigan and have a large selection of Caniks in stock, some of which are very rare such as the FBINAA 25th anniversary models issued only to the FBI INAA members. I own personally 8 Canik pistols. Yooper, or Troll? I'm a born and raised T...

Re: 9mm Major?

9mm Major PF in USPSA puts you in open class... Edited: That is entirely accurate. You could shoot Open, but you'd be at a huge disadvantage competing against custom race guns. You could shoot Limited Major, but not with a 9. Any polymer gun is going to have some pretty strong recoil with Major loa...

What's better than watching a Trump Rally...watch a Trump Rally practicing your reloads!!! **== **==
Us old guys have to stay on top of our game!
Seems like it would be more appropriate to practice reloads when the DemonRats are having their senseless 'debate'. =))

Re: Home, home, on the range...

Your equipment or somebody doing it for you? A drag racer buddy of mine owns both of them. The excavator had 75 hours on it when I started. A few days into it, he calls me and says "I just bought a tracked-skid steer, I'm having it delivered to your house tomorrow so you can break it in". Bless you...

Re: Canik sfx with vortex

I have two Venom's and they've been flawless. One is pretty high round count.

Now that i think about it though, the second one has rarely been used. It's in a box on a shelf. 😥

Why do i have two? 🤔

Cool! Thanks for the advice! There's a club just north of you in Bandera that has regular Steel events and IDPA matches. Like most clubs, you don't need to be a member, you just pay $5 more. Here's a small snipet from their Practiscore match this weekend: "REGULAR Hours in effect:Anywhere 8:00 a.m....

Re: Eight Weeks of practice, Feedback apprciated

A couple years ago my optometrist hooked me up with custom glasses that solve the front sight vs Target dilemma; the right lens strength is set at about 36", which is the distance from my eye to the front sight? The left lens is infinity/Target distance. This is fairly common with contact lenses, bu...

Re: Bullet "gr" properties and equating them to shot accuracy

Part II. Different grains and their respective powder charge will respond differently in any given gun. I did some testing earlier this year with 147's at three different powder levels with a Chrono. In my SFx, 130 power factor rounds had a wide range of fps, and large groups. Bumping the powder up ...

Re: Bullet "gr" properties and equating them to shot accuracy

I'll try... Lower grain (weight of the projectile) ammo uses more powder, which results in the bullet traveling at a higher feet per second (fps) velocity. This often is perceived as higher 'felt recoil' Heavier projectiles are larger (duh) and take up more space in the cartridge, use less powder, a...
