Canik TP9DA Burnt Bronze

Post by Janik » Sun Aug 12, 2018 10:30 am

Let's see those Burnt Bronze DA's. I don't know why but I really like this color. At first when it was released, I thought it was kind of hideous. But, being a fan of the Canik brand, I had to add one to my collection, and I'm glad I did. It get's attention from other shooters at the gun range and gives me an opportunity to educate them on the Canik brand. Who else has a Burnt Bronze? Let's see some pics.

Oh man....I want one so bad.....I'd be willing to do something unethical to get it......like lie to my wife! Although I have NEVER done that before.

I too thought they looked a little ridiculous. But after seeing a youtube video where a guy was talking up the DA's I kinda started liking it. I believe the guy's name was James Yeager- he called it "LeBronze".

I tried to look up the video..... but apparently James Yeager has managed to pizz-off some folks and I can only find negative videos about him

His video on Canik really helped me decide to make the jump. He had several TP9's that he used in his training sessions- and he talked about how many thousands of rounds they had gone through.

I saw those same vids a couple years ago. He said the SA had thousands and thousands of rounds through them, and never had anyone in a training class inadvertently de-cock the firearm either. He was a big Canik supporter, too bad he's got such negative rap now.

I like the burnt bronze if the combat came in it I'd get it, the DA isn't high on my list of priorities I'm afraid.

I agree, maybe even an elite combat in two tone with a black frame and burnt bronze slide. That would look really nice.

I refuse to condone such obvious bias and discrimination based on color. (Although off the record, I agree, two tone black with bronze slide would be sweet).

I was going to swap slides and grips around on my black and burnt bronze, but since the grips and slides have the serial #, my OCD won't let me do it.

I was browsing on Lipsey's earlier today and noticed they have burnt bronze slide/ODG frame versions of the SFX and Elite available. They only had an image of the elite, there wasn't one of the SFX. Looked great. Probably my favorite color combo I've seen on a Canik. Does anyone know if these are new and if they are a distributor exclusive? I'm not in the market for one just yet, but would prefer to buy from Prepper Gun Shop if they are going to carry that color combo in the future.

I imagine the retailers will start carrying them soon. If I get a second SFx, it'll probably be in this color combo. I already have two Elites, not sure I need another one. Looks good though.

If I'm not mistaken I think the frame is molded in that color, is that correct? The burnt bronze and OD green frame looks amazing too.

I went ahead and downloaded the images of the SFX and SF that Broxson found and posted directly so no one would have to open a new window to view. Man, these guns look sharp in that color combo.

Won’t upload from my phone but just bought my burnt bronze DA for my bday a couple days ago and I love this color. I get bored of tan or black semi autos. This bronze has character!

Wife loves this color as well.

I might of bought that model if it did. The burnt bronze color was the decision maker for me. That and I liked the idea of the SA/DA.

I like the DA so much I have 4 of them now. I prefer DA/SA for EDC and home defense. And if I want/need to, it only takes a very short press check to put it in SA mode. I just really like the versatility of a DA/SA pistol, and having second strike capability. I was torn between my V2s and DA's, but eventually the DA edged out the V2. I just think the trigger is a little better, and the reset is shorter. In single action mode, it's hard to beat the DA.
