TP9SFX

Post by bronx1924 » Fri Oct 05, 2018 7:48 pm

Hello.... I purchased a TP9SFX on Sept 27th and took it out to the range today to check it out for function and see how it shoots.I put 150rds. threw it,100rds of 124gr. and 50rds. of 115gr. It shot great and no malfunctions what so ever. Left the range a happy camper got home and started to clean it up and I notice what appears to be a crack in the frame.I took it to the shop where I purchased the gun and asked them to take a look to see if they see what i'm seeing. They said it is definitely cracked and to call customer service and get the problem resolved.I am very disappointed in the quality of the pistol Has anybody experienced a problem like this?

Haven't experienced anything like this with my SFX but Canik/Century Arms support is excellent. They will make it right for you. One of their guys is a member here, Garrett. My experience with my SFX has been great, as most everyone here on the forum.

Can you post pictures of the frame and crack here? I'd like to see it as I'm sure many here would too.

I will say I have not never seen an issue like that. But, customer service is great and it will be fixed (or replaced). I can't speak for them, but history says, "not an issue".

BTW, welcome aboard to the forum. :YMPARTY:

No big deal, without a macro lens it would probably be challenging to effectively capture an image of a crack in the frame.

If you shoot a mime, do you have to use a silencer? :-\

Could you give us a detailed description on where to look, just so we have some idea of where it might crack?

If you can email an image then you can post it here. See the rectangular button "Upload images" above when you go to write a post? Drag and drop, just that easy.

Oh yes, that doesn't look healthy at all. You could email them right now if you have not already. Their email is: support@centuryarms.com
Garrett Anderson is the gentleman who helped me, and is a member here on the forum. I'm sure they will provide you with a shipping label to return your firearm to them, and get you squared away promptly.

You did well with the pic.

Bronx,

I finally got a chance to look at mine and it looks a lot like that. I haven't looked at it under magnification and my eyes aren't what they used to be, but I tried as hard as possible (without tools or leverage) to make the crack/scratch open up wider under stress, but couldn't. I am not doubting you but now a bit concerned about mine. Can you stress yours enough to make the crack open up a bit?

Anybody else seeing this (you may have to click on the picture to get to the full size image with the issue)?

I tried also to make it flex but could not do it, comparing the left side to the right there is definitely something going on there.

As I recall from the group on Facebook, it isn't an actual crack. It appears to be one but isn't. There was a large group of frames that came out looking like that. It was a huge discussion about six months ago. From what I remember, there is not structural issues, just looks odd.
